I had heard that the Yamaha factory covers for older models have been difficult to find as Yamaha has stopped having many of them made. My '04 SX 230 cover is 3 years old and still in decent shape. I expect I'll get another 2 years (maybe 3) out of it, since the boat is shrink wrapped about 1/2 the year, but I did not want to be stranded when the time comes so figured I'd order a spare while I can. I worked in the business back in the day and still close with the parts manager at the dealership. He told me last time Yamaha corp had that cover in stock was 2020, so the hunt began. I found one at Leaders RPM for $669 with free shipping and they showed it in stock online. I'm always a little skeptical so I called to confirm. They said they had 10 in stock so I ordered right away and they already shipped it out 2 day shipping same day. Looks like they have a lot of the other hard to find older boat covers in stock, so if you're looking check out their website or give them a call.

I agree. I bought one for my boat last year even though I should be good for at least 2 more years, if not more. Once they‘re gone, they’re gone.

It is a shame these covers only last 3 maybe 4 years tops before you run the risk of shredding them while towing your boat down the road or after a wind storm (both happened to me)

I am in my 5th Yamaha cover (average about$700 each) and looking for alternatives
