Graph or chart of different boat years/models?

This came from another thread, but I'm posting my question here as this is a more appropriate place...

"Older Boats".....if that is the case....do they offer Vintage Reg numbers....I'll be eligible before both of you! LOL

It would be interesting to see a chart or graph of boat years/models of all the members here. Do the Admins have a way to tabulate or summarize that data from the membership file?

I'd be happy to crunch the numbers and create the chart if there was a way for me to get the raw numbers

@maboat ... nicely done sir!! I was a little surprised at the number of 2013's. What happened in 2013 to cause the spike do you think?? I don't see a lot of advertising on these boats...now, seadoo has some ads that I've seen but I don't know that I have ever seen anything on Yamaha boats. Or at least in our area.

Agreed! That was/is great model (same boat, with or without factory tower)
It was this series (2004-2006 AR/SX230) that helped Yamaha break through the old stigma of jetboats and change the market.

Sure changed our lives, and for a couple of guys without much need for things....and stuff, it's a fully capable liveaboard! Fishing poles, snorkel gear, packed coolers and sleeping bags.... oh yeah, an inverter to run the laptop so we can watch movies at night..... Doesn't get any better for us!

Even with less total boats on the board so far for 2014, there are more 21X for that model year. To me that shows either a large growth in that market, or those folks are more into web message boards...

My research says that only 5% of Yamaha Jet Boat Owners have participated in any forum over the last decade. I hope that we will be able to reach a larger segment of owners.

I see two peaks of forum usage here. The largest, the 2013 crowd, are new owners who are excited about mods and learning how to use their new boats. The second, the 2007 - 2008 crowd, is here for maintenance questions as well as the mods.

@Bruce ... would have thought that more owners would have been involved than just 5%. I think I fall into the excited about mods, learning how to use my boat and the maintenance even though mine is a 2008. It's only my second year owning this boat and I've still have a lot to learn!!

@Jim Robeson, I believe the low forum usage numbers are due to a lack of awareness of forum availability. We are working on ways to reach the broader spectrum of owners.

What happened last year for me was my 2006 boat getting crappy and me making enough money to support a boat payment. I'm on here based on the excitement of a new boat as there are lots of things I want to do to make it mine.

Also I dont think I would have gone for the 2012... I really like the dash on the 2013, the new carpet and the black tower on black hull. It was those step-ups that sold me on mine.

Reviewing old thread. Here is chart based on length. The 24-footers are catching up, but so far, the 23-foot still rules

The 23' was sold from late '04 until '09? or 5 production years? And the 24' is just beginning the season on the 4th model year. But the weakened the segment by bringing in a new segment, pricing, and ironically, the Limited and Limited S was not the best selling model in the larger boat in the 23' years...I suspect that it is now in the 24' years and if it isn't, it has a greater market share. Surprising I think, but I think Yamaha is reaching a more affluent group, or a group more willing to take on debt for a perceived luxury. It would be interesting to see this broken down more. For example, we have many owners here that would not ever buy a new boat, even though they may be affluent enough to pay cash for one. @maboat, the AR/SX 230 was as I understand, the best selling boat in this category...ever. I think I drank the kool aid...

I may be wrong, but weren't both available in '09? Wouldn't that make 5 production years for both ('04-'09 and '09-14)?

Also keep in mind these numbers are only totals from members of this forum and are not necessarily indicative of the total sales numbers for each model.
