I pulled both my pumps today with no issue getting them out but I have a few questions. First of all I am convinced that the impellers hit the wear ring housings so that has made the decision for me to upgrade my impeller housing to plastic inserts. I am also getting impellers repitched to what impros suggest for some more low end grunt.
Ok now for the questions. What is everyone using to reseal their pumps. I am missing sealant and I have tried to reseal them before and that is no longer there.
I was also reading a few threads where people replaced their pump cone lube with a mix of gear oil and an am soil grease or just a gear lube period. Just wanting to know a year later if you have noticed any issues?
Last question, I was spinning the impellers and they feel great! Should I replace the bearings since I will have it all apart or just stick it all back together? I can see both sides. If it ain't broke don't fix it, but since I have it down that far might as well do it? I have a press so haveing the tools for the job isn't an issue.
Anyways here are some pics of what I found.
