Hi, all -

This may be a silly question, but: my new-to-me Rinker Rocket has two temp gauges in the dash. Since I've only got one motor (a 175xr2 SportJet), I'm wondering what it's supposed to be measuring...

I'm actually going to be replacing all the gauges; all of them are in fairly crap condition, and some just plain don't work even when you do the right thing at the signal terminal. I just need to know what the heck I'm hunting for back on the engine/jet, or if I should just cap off that hole.

I am only guessing as I have no knowledge or experience but I would suggest the engine block and the exhaust manifold.

Sounds plausible to me. If you're going to replace gauges maybe you could check the power leads on each gauge, (with motor running) to see if there is any voltage present. If not you could trace the leads back to the source. You will probably find a temp sensor on both.

Thanks, @buckbuck and @Gym! Sounds plausible, and gives me a route to follow. Yet another project for this coming week... although those are slowly changing from "must do" to "playing with boat gadgetry". Honestly, taking care of this Tiny Monster after years of maintaining a 45' liveaboard sailboat is fun - everything is so cute and small and cheap by comparison! :) Except for the engine and the jet, of course. It seems to run quite well, but who the heck knows what I'll find once I start really digging in there.

Much appreciated, gentlemen!
