I have read on a couple different places that they don't recommend leaving the seadoo boats not to leave them in the water as they will take on water. I don't understand this is there something that leaks on these boats or I just happen to stumble across odd remarks? I plan on taking the boat to different lakes and maybe getting over night slips. Thanks

I’ve never heard this. Don’t have seadoo experience but I keep my chaparral in the water all summer.

BRP recommends not leaving in the water all the PWC and boats since the carbon seals can leak. Many people leave their boats in the water for extended periods, just be sure your bilge works, batteries are charged etc.

My Challenger 210 has been in the water for 3 months - no issues and doesn't take on any water.

How do you keep your hull clean? If I leave mine 7 days (without bottom paint) the growth takes 5MPH off the speed...another 7 and barnacles would show up...maybe some clean lakes?

Every couple of weeks I'll anchor in a shallow area, jump in and scrub the waterline/hull as best I can. The biggest issue has been oxidation and trying to keep the black gel-coat looking clean and shiny. But I found an oxidation remover that seems to keep a handle on that. Overall for staying in the water the boat looks very good and I haven't noticed any change in performance. At the end of the season I'll have a bottom cleaning (acid wash + hull wash) to make it like new again before storage.

One of those rv brushes on a handle makes the job a little easier.

We have Zebra mussels in the river so the longest i leave it in is about a week. Then I pull it, clean it up, and let it dry for a couple days.

Down here it’s a really bad idea.
In the salt water environment the electrolysis action reiks havoc .
The jet is comprised of stainless steel and aluminum. Add an acid and the results are well , destructive.
And that’s not to mention the wonderful marine life.

Might I ask what you use?

two things I like to proactively do to my boats

1. make sure none of the lug nuts on the trailer are stuck

2. take apart my pump and make sure none of the pump bolts are seized

these problems can ruin a boating vacation trip
