I have a 2012 so 190with 225 hours. Been running great the past few weeks. Today it was running fine for a hour and then I put in like 5 feet of water and just floated. Then I was going back to pull a tuber and with the throttle fully down I was only getting 6000-6500 rpms but I can normally get 8k plus. I was only getting to 30 mph when I can normally go 40 plus.

I was messing with the clean out port before we went tubing again and I made sure I put it fully back in.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Check the throttle cable to see if it slipped.

The engine definitely sounds different when running now. Lots of gargling when sitting in neutral or slow speed and when running at medium to full throttle it doesn’t sound normal.

Did you check your air filter to see if it is clean? Overfilling the oil during an oil change can result in a oily air filter

Air filter seems fine

Also check to see if something is in the jet pump... could be anything small

Ok I will look again. I tried loooing to see if anything was in there. Didn’t seem like it

I've had a remarkably small piece of driftwood caught in mine causing problems. I would say roughly 2-3 times the size of a toothpick in thickness. It was super small.

Caught a piece of wood on the river, used the cleanout port to get it out, thought all was well. I was getting full RPM, but not full thrust, so slightly different case. I checked cleanout again, and pulled this tiny little piece out. Boat ran better, but still not 100%. Then like someone walked up and kicked the back of my seat, the pump must have spit something else out because I took off like a rocket at ~25mph or so.

yeah I looked back there an while and can't find anything. Its just not going up to full rpms with the throttle down.

I bet you have a bad "new" spark plug.
I would switch them out before taking it to the shop.

Ok I will do that. Thank you.

I have a similar issue with My 2015 SX240. Did You ever find the issue that was causing it?
