Hi everyone. I Could use your help trying to get the correct part.

I purchased a 2018 ar190 with 11 hours on it. When I picked it up the dealer didn't have the connector that mounts the wake tower to the boat. In all my searching I cannot find a part # . Nor can the dealer....

I thought I would check hear before they order a brand new wake tower at there cost of course. Any ideas where I could find the parts or get the part #'s

electrical connector?

Gonna sound like a stupid question since you need to buy a thing you don't have......but do you have a picture of what you're looking for?

Here's my boat with the tower off. Can you circle what you're looking for?

Here's the tower on the ground. Is it something here?

Here's what I would call the "mounting bracket" for the tower. Is this what you're looking for?

This Diagram shows the bolts that hold the tower to the hull, but not the "bracket" I have pictured above.

2017 Yamaha AR190 (RX1800AS) Wakeboard Tower | Babbitts Online

I can go lower the tower tonight and look for some part numbers for you. Boat is at home in the garage currently while I'm at the office.

Can I ask how one comes to have a boat with the tower off and those parts missing/lost?

Thank you for replying 2kwik4u! It's the third picture that whole metal/ plastic mount is missing! Yeah it's unbelievable that the dealer doesn't know why they are missing. But they want to make it right by replacing the parts, or buying a new factory tower. Of course buying the whole tower assembly is the last resort.🙄

The problem seams to lay with Yamaha not having the part listed. The dealer can't find it. Apparently the wake tower is not made by Yamaha they outsource it. Thus the outsourced vendor is slow to reply. I'm a little fustrated that the dealer can't get this resolved. So thought I would reach out to the jet boat community!😁

If you know the part # it will help tremendously. Or if some one has extras.

Looks like the previous owner REALLY didn't want the tower on there. Super Odd, and I'm betting there is a story there.

My suspicion is that Yamaha buys the towers complete from their vendor, and that vendor supplies the mounting brackets and hardware. I doubt you will find a Yamaha part number or availability of those pieces. There is an XTP sticker on my tower with a serial number. I'll grab a picture of that when I get home.

Here is the suppliers website. Might reach out to them to see about getting just the small parts you need: WHO WE ARE | Xtreme Towers

Out of curiosity, do you have the tower in hand and just need the pieces, or do you need the tower and everything as well? How did the previous owner get the tower to the dealership NOT on the boat, that thing is a super PIA to move around when it's off the boat. Not sure I could easily transport it in my fullsize pickup, would most likely have to get a trailer to move it around.

Another thought......I know a guy that does CNC work. I'll shoot him a picture of the mounts and see what he would charge to replicate them. I'm guessing $3-400 for those pieces, but will ask.....also, as I sit here and think about it. Do you have the mounting hardware as well? There is a stainless pin, a circlip, some o-Rings, Cables and ends that go with all that mounting arrangement.

Yeah they gave me a whole box of hardware along with the tower. Not sure if the pins are in there. But the dealer bought everything on the diagram including the transport adapters all brand new, thinking that was what I needed. Thanks for the help I really appreciate it.

Looks like you are missing more than just the mounting pieces. You'll need the pins, retaining rings, O-rings, hand knobs, mounts, and trim piece (sub mount?).

Chatted with my CNC buddy at lunchtime. $400/piece (so $800 total) to get these parts setup and made for the first two. Setup and fixturing is the hard part and the majority of the expense. Material and machine time aren't the major cost drivers. Once the season is over (few weeks time) then he can use mine as templates for new ones and get firm pricing. Considering you need these other parts as well (which we can also machine), I'm guessing you'll easily be $1,200 or more into the cost to have them recreated.

If the dealership is paying, it might be easier/faster/more likely to not have problems if they order a whole new tower to get the pieces/parts that you are needing. I sure feel like they could have reached out to the factory by now with the situation, and remedied it that way though.

Well the dealer made good! Sent me all the parts had it installed in a couple hours. Just wish it didn't take so long for the Yamaha/ dealer parts locating!

Thanks for everyone's help!

Wow, that’s a great dealer! Glad you got help, looks good!
Those brackets do not have a separate part number, are considered as one part - the whole assembly. Don’t ask me how I know, lol.

Yeah I feel that patience, kindness, and as much research as you can do tends to have better results! Lessons learned...

1 Yamaha outsourced the wake tower

2 The wake tower manufacturer is not required to keep parts nor sell them direct.

3 the tower manufacturer can only sell to a Yamaha jet boat dealer.. so if you have a problem with your tower.. no matter where you buy your boat they will have to go to the Yamaha dealer.

4 always buy from a reputable boat dealer. Check them out well before purchase.

despite this little hiccup the dealer was a pleasure to work with and willing to do whatever it took to make it right. For that I would go back to them in a heartbeat.

so far loving my boat
