Hello All

Like others I see on here I just got a 89 JetStar 1250. with a 90 Suzuki motor.
I am looking for the basic stuff like a owners or even better a service manual on the boat and engine.
Also I`m looking for parts such as steering and forward/reverse cable.
I tried CPC and deckjetwatercraft web sites and there is no links to click on for parts? do you have to call?

What ever info y`all can give me is awesome.

Thanks
Tom

glad to have you on board,
you'll probably have to end up improvising on most items, for you cables I would say pull them to confirm the length and then buy something similar,

the motor, you may find a manual somewhere on the internet but we've not seen them here before,

Give us a couple pictures and tell us where you'll be boating,

Hello Scott and JB members

I am in the N.E. Georgia area. we boat on Tugaloo River and Lake Hartwell. Only been boating for 3 years. even thou I was born and raised 100` from the ocean in Jacksonville Beach Fl. I get sea sick pretty bad (why i joined Army) my wife talked me into getting a boat 3 years ago so I got a small 12` alum Jon boat, I didn't chum the waters so we moved to a 1971 Ash Craft Bow rider that I restored from trailer up, still not sick! but with my back issues it beat me to death so we moved to a 23` pontoon, now wife wanting a small boat she can handle by herself so she found this red thing. 1989 Ultranautics 1250 pretty sure I got took to the cleaners at $1,500 but hey she wanted a red one. Just spent 6 hours cleaning years of tress drippings off of it and found paint under that black tree goo.
The good part is it has a 1990 Suzuki 60hp??? that never been cranked, the carbs are bone dry and came out of a crate, I am still looking for a ser# on it. motor had sat in a dudes garage for all those years. hopefully after I buff it out and detail the boat and trailer it will look good I hope and give it to her on Christmas.
Sucks not having a manual so I have tons of what is that for questions for the Ultranautics crowd.

73s all

well here is a update, did some work on wife`s money pit,,, I mean Jet-Star 1250. I pulled gas tank just because from experience telling me after 30+ years of clueless people it needed to be cleaned. AND boy was I right.!!View attachment 109639 check out the pic. to add to the parts we found in it there was allot of small trash and plenty of water to the point it had a white blob of water oil gas mix floating in the tank. then of course the mount the tank was resting on was rotted so had to redo that. pulling the tank wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I spent more time trying to get a pick up screen on the bottom of the fuel hose because at some point somebody put a different size elbow 90 (3/8) in the fuel tank then the line than the factory screen(1/4) so I had to heat the hose to fit. All is in and secure now.
we redone the bunks/beds also and put new LED tail light`s on trailer. so not a bad new years day.

well time to rest my back, knees, arms, neck I should just say body

Tom

UPDATE!
Like Scott in Texas said "you`ll probably have to end up improvising" he was right. being the fwd/rev cable had been broken off at the threads I just rethreaded it and put a small turn buckle on the end and looks like it works great.

we did a leak test today 2/15/20 and it did leak a little bit around the engine to frame gasket and very little around the steering cable, I`m thinking that's not bad being I put a new bilge pump in it that got tested also.

NOW the problem I ran into was going forward the flap opens as it should to push the water out but the throttle wouldn't rev the motor, but when I put it in reverse it throttles open and moves the flap and revs the engine, all is ok in reverse. anybody have a idea where to look as to why the throttle isn't opening all the way when in forward? the flap is open 100% but wont go farther to open the throttle..

could it be because there is maybe the mod I had to do to the fwd/rev cable?

works fine in reverse it opens the flap then it then revs the engine.

I see there is different holes for fine adjustment at the throttle handle but where talking maybe 1/8" to 1/4" adjustment. it feels as if there is something keeping it from going all the way forward at the throttle handle. does the micro switch on the control have anything to do with that?

any help from the experts is welcome..

not any more, when I got it the floor was rotted and had to replace that part of the floor and i drilled a 1" hole between the support ribs (look under the boat to see) I drilled the hole and coated it with marine grade silicone. Any water will drain to the center so the bilge pump will get rid of it.

drs1250 no idea but like so many parts on this boat it is universal. my fuel Gage doesn't work either so not sure if it is the sending unit in the tank or the gauge but the gauges are pretty new not original. so i`m thinking of replacing both. if i was you i would look for 12 gallon gas tank sending unit. my tank is (12 Gal)..a marine parts seller should sell the gauge and sending unit. I use great lakes skipper allot. hope this helps

update. 5-4-20 my fuel gauge starting working on its own. i`ll take it.

Not sure if a 12 gallon sender would work, with the angles of the tank, it measures around 6 inches deep, so I will go with a 6 inch sender. FYI - The original sender is a medallion b1321

Ok guys I need some help. I got a jetst 1250. It has a j6001 engine. The engine is blown up. The previous owner ran it with straight gas. Cylinder liners are trashed. Do they make oversized pistons for them or does anyone know if I can put a 4 stroke engine off a jet ski to the jeep pump on it? Or where to get engine parts for it?
