I'm in an AR190 and running a 1000 watt 4-channel and upgrading/adding speakers to my set-up and concerned with cooling.
was planning to install it in the storage area under glove box/head unit and was thinking about a vent or something on the door panel...
any ideas/tips? anyone else have a better location or solution?

I'm sure it would be fine as many boats come with huge stereo systems and none of them have additional cooling fans or vents as far as I can tell. However if you do feel like your amp would require cooling I'd just buy a CPU style fan to run it across the amp to circulate air and remove any excessive stagnant heat. I think you'll be fine though.

The inner part of the hull is all open. Stick your head in the compartment and you'll see what I mean. Cooling should not be a problem.

As the others stated, it's fairly open - as long as there is some air to dissipate heat, it shouldn't be an issue. Especially with the Class-D digital amps.

I don't know if it really helps or not, but I have always used some type of spacer to give a little extra room between the mounting board and the amp. I feel like it gives a little more air around the amp, especially if you are using any type of carpet, but again I have no evidence it helps.
