I noticed at my dealership some of the galvanized trailers have diamond plated fenders and some galvanized trailers did not. All are 2020 galvanized models and all are shorelandr.

I pointed it out to my salesman and he said he never realized it. My 2012 limited S I am trading in has the diamond plated fenders and it figures the 242 SE I'm buying is the only one in stock and it doesn't have the diamond plate. The dealer says it's too much of a hassle to switch trailers. I'd make a stink about it but ultimately I use the trailer twice a year.

Just wondering... does anyone know why some have it and some don't?

No clue. My 2020 195S came with galvanized single axle trailer, and has plastic fenders.

My 2020 non galvanized did not come with diamond fenders. However the whole trailer is done in a material similar to a truck bed liner, which is nice so far.

Actually what you are getting on your new trailer is a big improvement. They are steel and are way more rigid than the old style. Can probably actually stand on them with out breaking

The trailer with the diamond plated fenders are actually plastic fenders with an aluminum diamond plate overlay insert.

Big issues with the carriage bolts breaking, diamond plate cracking where the holes are from the vibration going down the road.

Shore land had to replace many fender support brackets that were cracking completely in half. Had to replace many fenders due to this issue on several years. (Mine one of them)

This is why they changed the style, and went to all metal. Too many warranty isses. Count your lucky stars. :)

They are definitely plastic. However, there are supports on them under the fender which allot you to stand on the ends and the top of them from what I can tell.

Interesting. I never bothered to look at mine but they're 8 years old and I stood on them all the time without any issues.

It's just a trailer and even though I think the diamond plate looks great... it's just a trailer. Good to know. Thanks!
