I have a 2007 Yamaha SX 210. Through the help of others on this forum I was successfully able to connect the YDS software to read the codes and delete previous ones that were no longer accurate. It was also able to see my hours which was nice.

However, I was unable to clear or turn off the check engine lights that are on for both engines. Now is the frustrating part, I had it at the Yamaha dealer, and they told me that there was nothing wrong with the boat or the engines, and I could pay them to spend hours troubleshooting how to turn the lights off, even though everything was working correctly, or instead, I could enjoy my boat, knowing there is nothing wrong with it. I chose the latter. It is a bit ironic that it seems the error is the light itself not anything that it is detecting. This was a few years ago, and I have been enjoying my boat without issues.

Now I am planning to sell the 2007 to upgrade to a more recent model. I know there is nothing wrong with the boat, but a prospective buyer could understandably have concerns.

Can anybody either offer a way they know to clear all lights or to validate that this is a known issue of having lights on with no problems on the boat?

I was hopeful that through the YDS I would be able to clear them, once again I was able to delete the code, but not make the light go off on either engine.

Incredibly frustrating and would be immensely appreciative of any help.

Wow both engines at the same time........first the dealer is correct he will spend hours chasing voltages that are tripping a yellow light. I always look at what's common between both engines. Ground wires and Battery.

Now hears my story 4 months into owning my SX240 all trips were short out on the bay with 3 to 4 hours of drifting...music stock radio...GPS never off, then the 20min ride back to my lift. I had a battery loosing charge every trip. My LCD screen built into my gauge started flashing a CL code but the code was blank no number.......had this code for 2 weeks......Then after a no start I had the batt check (Good but low charge) I went ahead and purchased a NEW AGM and a onboard charger/maintainer .........and no more code.

Yamaha are known for odd electronic problems when the battery's are getting weak ............it seems battery's and the slightly weak Stator charge system trips all kinds of codes and lights. HOW good is your batt and do you use a charger/maintainer between trips.............Now if you make Long runs all the time the charger might not be needed. Bad grounds are also problems.

Hope this helps good luck and I'm with you I hate yellow lights when nothings wrong...

At this point I appreciate all ideas. I do have a maintainer, and keep it charged constantly. The batteries might be 4 years old, and are not AGM. The lights come on instantly within a minute of starting each engine. I am curious re: bad grounds are also problems... beyond inspecting battery connections, do you have any recommendations to try? Given the instantaneous nature of the error lights on both engines, does this make anything any more likely? I really appreciate yours and any thoughts here. Very elusive issue, and it runs great. But now looking to sell and upgrade.

I would clean all Battery grounds and do the red + while you are their as well.....clean grounding cables to the EMC computer and all ground cables on the engine........mine are bolted to the motor mounts.....both engines have an earth plate....... on mine its bolted to the back side of the motor..........these connectors have a whole lot of ground wires in one place..

Just for fun next time out, start the port motor(slave gauge) let it run for a few min to see if yellow warning come...............repeat with just Starboard engine (Master gauge) on my SX240 and see if Yellow warning comes on. My manual states starboard gauge is MASTER and PORT is SLAVE.

Their are a lot of sensors on both engines I find it hard to believe 2 sensors on 2 motors are failing at the same time. Gets back to that common thing again.............

Just a crazy thought good luck
