Hey Everyone,

I went boating last night and was flushing my AR195, but there was no water coming out of the cooling line. There was only water coming from the impeller/engine in the back.

I checked the cooling lines and they aren’t kinked or anything.

Has anyone else had this issue and know what to do?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

When I use the hose in my house to flush the engine I never have water come out of the pissers. In the lake it’s a different story. All three pissers work like a charm. I believe the water pressure from the hose is not strong enough and that’s why I don’t get any when I flush it at home

Normal. When I'm running in the driveway the pissers dribble just a bit. It's important to note that those are just visual indicators of water coming in from the pump. Your actual cooling water is flushed out through the exhaust.

That's weird as this was the first time I used the commercial flush out station on Mission Bay and water pressure was the strongest with a brand new hose and it didn't flush out the side. Maybe Ill try using my old setup and see if anything changes. I appreciate the help.

Good to know, maybe I was over reacting as I've always had water come out this pissers and it didn't come out this time

If you have good flow when the boat is in the water, don't lose any sleep over it. If you don't have good flow while on the water, try running some weed trimmer line down the hose from the outside ports to see if there's anything jammed in there. I've read posts here where insects will make nests in them.

I work on a lot of waverunners and Yamaha jetboats and have noticed that if the boat or ski is slightly high in the bow when flushing it wont come out the indicators. If you nose down the bow it will always come out.

And i also believe if the bow is too high the front of cooling passages dont get good flush but that is just a theory. A shutoff for the pump side is really the only sure fire way to make sure the engine is getting flushed properly

per manual water should flow out the side of the outlet (pisser) when flushing.
Never had water come out of side outlet during flushing. I have shortened my
flush because if I run engine flushing past 5 minutes overheat alarm get activated.
Very frustrate with Yamaha thinking their manual was faulty because it works in water but not in driveway.
I think after reading Neuton reply he may be onto something with the bow elevation. My driveway has a slight incline raising the bow.

Odd, I always had water coming out of my pissers when flushing on a hose. I would run water for about 2 minutes, then switch to Salt-A-Way until the water turned from blue to clear. Not seeing water would be a cause for concern with me, but my street is pretty level, maybe only a few degrees bow up. Based on the video below, sounds like a couple things could prevent water flow.
Insect nest / mud dobbers
RPM is not high enough to push water out
Or, your water flow could not be strong enough and the flush water is taking the lath of least resistance and exiting out of the back at a lower point.

You should never get an overheat when flushing, you obviously have a restriction somewhere

These boats dont have water pumps so rpms dont do much for flow. It will create more pressure in the exhaust which will create pressure causing the flow to go through the engine because there isn't any pressure there
