    Deluxe Bimini

My factory bimini lasted about 3 years until it ripped apart. I had one made with sunbrella that should last longer. The material used in the factory bimini is the cheapest material they can find and will fade with the sun. I was lucky to get 3 years because my boat is stored in my garage.

New 190/195 AR with Jensen vs Clarion radio unit. Any issues with either?

My Jensen had shown condensation early on when I bought the boat, was replaced under warranty and it has been 6 years since with no issues. I'm really just waiting until it goes bad to replace it with a Fusion MS-RA70.

Where do you take your 190/195?

Mine is a 1.8 NA, these 4 cyl engine are bullet proof, change the oil evry season and Spk. Plugs at 100 hours and you are good to go. Im not a big fan of super charge or turbo chargers in a saltwater environment, means more maintenance (200 hour charger rebuilt) more fuel consumption, hoter...

Where do you take your 190/195?

Anyone will tell you buy your second boat first, so if you can afford a bigger boat go for it. But as for using the 190 FHS fishing nearshore or outshore, I do it all the time. Don't like to go out if it's over 2'. Your fuel tank is what would limit you on how far and how long you want to go...

2017 FSH Sport low rpm and top speed help

34-35 is your average speed on these boats, you will get over 38 when you are less then 1/2 a tank, and on a good day 40. Do check and adjust your throttle cable, you will gain an extra 2 mph if adjusted correctly.

    VHF radio install

You can use the assessory power and ground to install a VHF radio. But if you are doing a GPS, you will need to run a separate positive and ground busbar straight from the battery. The reason for a GPS is that any voltage fluctuations will make it go into voltage safe mode and reset while...

going to key Largo this weekend, tell me about sea conditions....

A 21 would be fine, Your best day will be Saturday, 1 to 1.5 waves 10 to 15 winds, it may get better. If you are in Key Largo, you can go to Carysfort or Molasses reef. If you are in the Molasses area, you can hit Mosquito Bank as a sand bar, less then a mile away, crystal clear water. Best...

One picture of your last outing.

Nice 10' hammerhead showed up right before I went spearfishing. Needless to say, my plans changed. I was actually scuba diving the same spot the day before.

How do I tighten throttle cable???

It's simple, loosen the 10 mm nut on both sides and turn the throttle cable in or out until there is no slack, not tight, just enough to get rid of the slack, then tighten the 10 mm nuts.

Shorelander galvanized trailer poor wiring connectors that dissolve in salt water

Shorelander galvanized trailer poor wiring connectors that dissolve in salt water

You will have to rewire all your connectors, i had to do it on mine after someone flag me down because the back of my trailer was on fire. Once the corrosion starts in one connector, its in all the connectors. This design does not work with saltwater.

    Florida Keys trip planning

Plan to stay in marathon, you can find multiple rental homes with docks and lifts to meet your needs. You will be near reefs to snorkel/scuba dive, fishing, 7 mile bridge. I suggest that you get a GPS/depth finder if you do not have one as there are many shallow areas.

    Recommendations for Florida Keys vacation?

Anywhere in the marathon area, lots of nice homes rentals with docks, some with boat lifts. Close to reefs for snorkeling, good places for fishing, 7 mile bridge. You can also drive south to Key west or north to key Largo, about an hour each way.
