Texoma Gathering 2017 July 22nd and Aug 12

Hi guys, I'm here...sorta...:sorry: This weekend is Father's Day and I've got several things going on. Trying to squeeze in some lake time, but it will probably be Lake Ray Hubbard on Sunday  I do have July 22 at Lake Texoma on my calendar still. :winkingthumbsup"

Have you ever banned a friend from your boat?

I got a boat to have fun, not get uptight. My vessel will always be a sanctuary for wine drinking women

    My Old Boat

You shoulda waited a year.... @Detonate's Red 2005 AR230 next my Red 2006 AR230. ;) The 230 is a classic. It was the game changer for Yamaha boats. Still lovin' mine :D (not as often, but still lovin' it :shamefullyembarrased: )

Yamaha vs. Chaparral - trying to decide...

What do you mean by that? Are you saying they have "true" transmission that disengages the jet pump from the engine driveshaft?

What makes it Tri-color? I only see grey over black?

    Need new bow light

I replaced mine with this LED one from SeaSense. It's a much lower profile than the original one which makes it less of a hazard for people climbing in and out of the bow...

Keel Guard starting to come off, looking for ideas

Thanks Dan, I figured you'd be the guy to know about adhesives. Is that a tape or a liquid/gel?

Keel Guard starting to come off, looking for ideas

After 10 years of reliable KeelGuard protection, I noticed mine starting to come off. What do y'all think is a good adhesive that I can stick in here to hold this back up? If it were the start or the end falling off, this might be easier. But the ends are holding tight, only a section in the...

The folding tongue is also common culprit for bad/finicky ground. I would check that...or even better, install a jumper wire across the hinge.

I would love to have one of those. I actually went shopping for one, but never realized how expensive those twin outboard really are. :(

hard wire a 12V high-volume inflator deflator in the boat????

For inflatable floaties and towables its better to use a high-volume air pump, not a high-pressure air pump. They are different. The pump pictured in the other thread is a high-volume pump.

    SX230 HO questions

And hopefully as a long time boater he would not have run the engines for 10 minutes without a garden hose connected to provide water cooling. Unfortunately, they don't have a fitting with direct garden hose threads. There is an adapter hose. Hopefully the friend knew about this and found...

2006 AR 230 should we buy?

Was it a Yamaha mechanic? I don't recall hearing about anyone on this forum with a bad starter solenoid...ever. Not saying it couldn't happen, but with these boats, the most common thing is one of the safety switches (cleanout hatch, throttle binnacle, and safety lanard, or the key switch)...

2006 AR 230 should we buy?

Well, the scupper is there (not missing). Its plastic (just like the original). Not a show stopper, but most of us replaced them with stainless steel since its an underwater thru-hull fitting. However, the Depth Gauge TRANSDUCER appears to be missing. Again, not a show stopper but something...

These Kenwood Amps are a fantastic value..

A square foot of 8-gauge copper for 31 pennies?!?!? Now that's a STEAL!

2006 AR 230 should we buy?

Hard to tell but I thought it looked more like it was replaced with another plastic one.
