+1 for the Shelta hat. For years I've had a couple of Tilley hats - picked two up on a trip to Toronto when I stumbled on an outlet sale at their store, for $18 a piece! Got a Shelta this year for the fixed brim, which works great even at WOT. No more momentary blindness when the Tilley flopped...- msavold

Ok, maybe we're a biased group here but I think these are perfect boats for (relatively) shallow water - I have my depth alarm set to 2' which in our area is common even in marked channels, especially after storms. @biffdotorg yeah, you'd think so... ?. @Shookie might have some better luck since it's still a current unit but when I called about mine they simply said they do not repair, period. Didn't think to ask if they have refurbs though.- msavold

Fusion replacement...
I replaced the POC head unit that came with my boat with a Fusion 700 about 5 years ago and it's really a piece of cake to do, particularly if you're replacing it with another Fusion unit. (Probably advisable if you have the NMEA-connected remote at the stern.) On mine the front panel pops off...- msavold

Yamahas and Cessnas - great machines really, but with the shittiest, most unbelievable fuel gauges ever made! (The only time I've run out of gas in a car, in over 45 years...- msavold

Cutting holes for new speakers
Hmmm... won't you risk a lot of chipping with a jig saw? I think you'd have to choose blade carefully - fine, sharp teeth? Planning to finally get around to adding a couple of speakers when the boat comes out of storage. I found a big enough hole saw set at Harbor Freight last year that seems to...- msavold

2021 Boating Season - When will it start?
Every year I say we're going to get the boat in the water by the end of March art the latest and every year since we've owned it something has come up (even if it's just weather that conspires against us) and then we're into April. Crossing our fingers for this year.
