Carbon Seal Function and Explanation For Pre-mature Failures.

Scarabmike---SMH!! Give me some respect and re-read my very first paragraph. Do I need to send in more pics as proof for the shrinkage of the bellows or Protect Hose as BRP used to name that part It sure can shrink, regardless of the clamps. As you stated, it flexes, and it can shrink...

Really? That's what you think? Re-read what I wrote again. It is by far NOT damage control and deflection. It's all facts.

Carbon Seal Function and Explanation For Pre-mature Failures.

This Forum Post that I am going to take my time to write here is only to help people understand the system of the Carbon Ring, the support ring, and the protect hose. I am not going to waste my time here to get bashed for something that I didn't design, so please keep the snide comments to a...

Kawasaki skis and a potential good deal...

It looks like a 1996 Kawasaki ZXI 1100 model. If it is, it's a 3 cylinder 1100cc 2-stroke engine, light green in color. It uses NGK spark plugs, BR9ES. It also has Keihin carbs with an external fuel filter mounted on the side of the hull. The battery will be a YTX20LBS usually costing around...

    Rope Sucker

It needs to be replaced or pushed back in towards the weedless shaft without tearing it. You can remove the jetpump and fix it that way, or try and cheat it with a small pick.

    Scarab Warranty

Mike, I have talked to you in the emails regarding service. I remember telling you in about 2 weeks I can get to your boat. I know that I haven't set a date necessarily but that is only because as I mentioned to you in my email about the 4th of July weekend. We are trying to get everybody...

    Scarab Warranty

That was his polite way of saying,"Sorry about your luck since you didn't buy the boat from him!" Sorry for being direct! If he is a Scarab Dealer, he is allowed to service any Scarab boat under warranty as well as general services. Now, if some of your complaints are from the dealer where...

    How to contact rotax/BRP ??????

I am not trying to put words into BRP's mouth, but they shouldn't have re-directed you back to Scarab. Did they mean a Scarab Dealer, not the corp? If they are sending you back to the dealer, that would be the correct thing to do and they will tell BRP their findings and get this corrected...

    Gas gauge stuck?

Okay, I am confused now. You said that you had a 165G (Scarab) but are showing me a Yamaha part and part number?? Not sure why? If you have a Yamaha, this should've been in the Yamaha Category to avoid confusion.

    Gas gauge stuck?

Where did you get that float?? You can't use silicone either since the gas will eat it. Secondly, the float usually cones with the arm already attached. You will move the tabs that the arm is attached to on tbe base of the fuel pump housing and slide the entire sensor up and out.
  16. Ron@Scarab

    Gas gauge stuck?

More than likely the float on the sensor has rotated getting between the tank.
