    Boat Stuff Jetboater forum purchases

What kind of advice? I wouldn't say we've all done it but I'm sure it's a high percentage. Same as any other on-line purchase in that I look at what they're selling and why (does it seem logical?) but I suppose I'm not as concerned since we're a closer community than, say, eBay. If it's someone...

CE Smith Trailer Post Guide on with LED Lighted Posts 60"

@HangOutdoors , sorry about the late reply - saw your post back then but forgot! Had the same posts and contemplated same problem. Instructions give you the option of mounting over or under the frame. Definitely go with under!

(Not really) A different sort of stuck reverse cable...?

Thanks guys. Yep. Pulled out the Roto Zip with the metal cut off wheel and it made short work of cutting about 3/8" off the ends of both cables. Put everything back together (and to think I was apprehensive about dismantling the helm controls - do it in my sleep now!) and I got a 1" gap...

Seastar/Teleflex cables - anyone cut threads to shorten?

@Beachbummer , yeah, that was the thought that led me to the conclusion that the new cables were longer. I measured the ends sticking out of the new and old cables and added them up (measuring from the "slot" in the cable that secures them to the tip) and did the same thing with the old ones...

Seastar/Teleflex cables - anyone cut threads to shorten?

Yeah, that seems to be the only solution I'm coming up with now. When I put the cables in and crank both the clip at the throttle and the swivel thingy at the bucket end as far down as they'll go, I only have a 3/8" opening in the nozzle rather than the 1.1"/30mm Yamaha recommends... Going...

(Not really) A different sort of stuck reverse cable...?

Second owner - but bought the boat when it was a couple of years old in fresh water and 70 hours so I can't imagine they'd had the cables done already. I went with the Seastar alternative mentioned here and am regretting it. Local dealer wanted $100 more per cable so it was just too tempting...

Seastar/Teleflex cables - anyone cut threads to shorten?

Just installed new bucket cables for our 2012 SX240 and it's been driving me insane. Got the new ones per what everyone else here's been doing - Teleflex CCX63318. Pulled out the old cables, put in the new ones, and the buckets are almost closed when in neutral vs 1.1"/30mm opening. Both old...

(Not really) A different sort of stuck reverse cable...?

I'm back. First of all, I've edited the thread title - I thought it was something different since the throttles went from "a bit stiff" to "this won't budge" over the course of one winter. But in the end it was just that - a pile of rust! The problem now though is that I desperately need HELP...

Throttle tension different between port and starboard

@VitaminSea I'm just going through the same grief. Pulling the cable was a piece of cake - relatively speaking. The rest of it is sucking right now - but that's another thread. The two small boots come off fairly easily and then you can slide the big rubber one off. The smaller ones are easy to...

(Not really) A different sort of stuck reverse cable...?

Well, color me stunned! I ordered the cables from Amazon yesterday at 12:34 p.m. for $48.85 including shipping. Amazon.com: Control Cable Assy., 3300 TFXtreme, 18': Automotive Shipped from Lino Lakes MN and AT 12:51 PM TODAY they were on my doorstep! Problem now is that I can't get to the boat...

(Not really) A different sort of stuck reverse cable...?

Thanks @Speedling - had some time to cool off and had another look today. Disconnected the bucket (should have looked at that before posting here!) and yea, it moved freely. The cable is completely seized up. I guess what surprised me and made me think this was something different was that the...

(Not really) A different sort of stuck reverse cable...?

Finally able to get the boat back from storage! Spent the week end deep cleaning it (my wife had to comment that she'd never seen me clean something other than my teeth with a toothbrush!) and when I got to wiping down the throttles the starboard engine throttle would not go from reverse to...
