    Newer boat, no warranty. Concerned?

Just did some googling. Calling the 800 number tomorrow for details. Thanks for the tip!

    Newer boat, no warranty. Concerned?

I'm looking at a 2017 212x and the warranty on the engines and pumps are about to expire. Let's consider the warranty gone since it will be by next season and the season is over in MI. I believe it's been well maintained. There are many dollars to save over a new boat and the risk I see is...

    Wake Booster

I was thinking the same. Not one mention of ballast with the wakebooster in any Yamaha video , cap. Steve, San Diego demo rides...none. Not the cleanest wave either but, well, Captain Steve was surfing... Assuming the benchmark is the Gatlin and extra ballast - we still need a side by side.

    Wake Booster

Looking forward the the test results. Getting ready to pull the trigger on a 212x and curious if the Wakebooster or Gatlin Wedge is the way to go.

    Wake Booster

Nice job. Any pics of the wave? Did it get better with ballast? Seems like every pic/video out there is ballast free.

    Wake Booster

Unless I've missed videos with the booster and full ballast (at least factory if not extra ballast) it's hard to make a real comparison to the gatlin wedge. Inquiring minds want to know...

    Wake Booster

More info please. Was it a 242x or 212x? What was the ballast set-up? Just factory or extra? Thanks.

    Wake Booster

I was wondering the same. There are several videos on the yamaha facebook page as well as a some posts from a dealer down south. The wave looks good for no ballast, including a nice curl along the top. But where's the full ballast wave?

    Wake Booster

Thanks. I guess I do see it mounted on both sides in the pics further up the thread. Is the video above with the Wake Booster?

    Wake Booster

Looks very one sided - as in this won't work if you like to ride the other side of the wake.

    Wake Booster

Has anyone actually seen it? The Google machine can't find me a pic. I don't see anything on Yamaha's site either, just the advertisement for the package.

    2017 212X Top Speed

Thanks. Is there a noticeable power increase in the lower rpm range, or just added rpms up top?

    2017 212X Top Speed

The ribbon looks basically like a screen. Is the power increase pretty obvious?

    2017 212X Top Speed

Regarding the ribbon delete - it sounds like the mod increases air flow to the engine? I'm guessing the engine management system will add fuel as needed? Will this void the warranty? Thanks.

Looking for feedback on the 2018 Yamaha 212x

Is anyone using a wave shaper that goes on the side of the boat? Like Malibu's surf gate. I see lots of chatter about a wedge in front of the jets but not on the side. Thx.

Looking for feedback on the 2018 Yamaha 212x

I saw a post on this forum where someone was talking about removing the hard tank ballasts and replacing them with larger bags attached to the factory fill pumps...to add more weight and keep the ballast tucked away. Does anyone know if this was successfully implemented? It sounds like an...

Looking for feedback on the 2018 Yamaha 212x

The shallow canal is in front of the house. The lake is plenty deep. Thx.

The New 212X is here! Hard Tanks, Connext, Stereo upgrade and more!

I know I'm resurrecting an old post...but did anyone figure how to remove the factory hard ballasts in the back and add sacks that connect to the factory fill pumps? I'm considering a 212x. I think it would be great to hide all necessary ballast. Thanks gang.

Looking for feedback on the 2018 Yamaha 212x

Are your problems related to the surfpointe? It's my understanding (although still researching) the surftpointe is the only substantive change from recent years.
