    Brass Drain plug install

I probably will too. My salt water use is minimal so brass should be fine.

    Brass Drain plug install

That looks a heck of a lot better than factory! I'll be curious to see if that helped with the bilge water. I was getting water in the changing area floor each night like yours, even when it didn't rain.

    Boat half full of water

So as not to hijack this thread about boat leaks...I sent you a link for your reading enjoyment.

    Boat half full of water

Yeah, either way you'll be better off than the factory plugs. I'm a trailer boater too so I'm constantly in and out with my drain plugs. Here in CO, your boat doesn't touch the water without a mandatory state run pre-launch inspection. "Pull your plugs for me sir. Where were you last? Let me...

    Boat half full of water

My little Mako has the one you mention on your Amazon link...it has worked just fine for about four years now. I hate the plastic ones as well. My FSH seems to have something interfering with the rear plug on the port side. That plastic tab that keeps the plug from falling out is hitting...

Nice idea. Had mine full of coffee recently. o_O

    Neutral Creep

Thanks all for the advice. I'll look and may play with the adjustment a bit. @Billy Marlin, I can't say for certain since I put the TV's on pretty much right away but I really don't think they'd have much effect on fore and aft thrust. Since we rented a house with a dock in FL and I came and...

    Neutral Creep

Thanks! Kind of what I figured.

    Neutral Creep

For all you jet veterans...Is forward creep in neutral a pretty standard thing on jet boats? While sitting along side a dock, I don't dare start the boat until I'm ready to release the lines and start maneuvering. Likewise when docking. There's no such thing as pulling up to the dock, throwing...

    Ipilot trolling motor mount problems

Sorry, I see I got ahead of myself there. I just re-read your OP. You weren't looking for instruction...it's already dealer installed. Anyway, please post a photo or two and show us what they did.

    Ipilot trolling motor mount problems

Totally agree. That little pointy floor area down in the console hold under the forward deck will hold two batteries just perfectly. You can mount your heavy amp circuit breaker right next to the batteries and your 3 bank battery charger right behind those on the side wall. Run one charger bank...

    Ipilot trolling motor mount problems

Here you go... I already had the Minn-Kota RTA-17 quick mount from the old boat. For this new boat, I purchased an 8" x 24" piece of 1" thick Starboard and fabricated that base plate in the photo and mounted the "boat side" puck from the RTA17 to it. It may seem a little long but I wanted to...

FSH drain tests and where the water goes

Thanks for that follow up. I noticed the same thing with the under seat storage on both sides...they don't drain well at all.

    Boat half full of water

Let us know if you find anything. It's weird, that water just seems to stay in that mid section. It doesn't seem to want to move rearward. I pulled the plug just forward of the bilge pump which I thought would open up that mid section and then had a few folks stand on the swim platform thinking...

    Strake Scratches

Weather has been an issue. It's been pouring on and off. Today was beautiful, tomorrow should be the same. But then Thursday looks iffy again. Friday, we have to head home. Practiced with my new cast net tonight and bagged a few Mullet off of our dock. I'll check the winds in the morning a may...

    Boat half full of water

I've been down here in Florida and we've had a ton of rain for a couple of days in a row. So I've given the rod holder holes and the hole for the seat post the benefit of the doubt as point of water intrusion during the storms. But.........the rain is done and there's still water each morning in...

    Strake Scratches

Mine is out away from the jet just a little further than yours. Probably the next strake outward. And yes, I'm below the transom just slightly. I'm not below the bottom of the hull though because that hull step is lower. I may play with the angle a little but I won't be experimenting with...

First ride in the FSH 190

If this helps at all...Here's my Riptide ST on the RTA-17 Quick release. The mounted puck is on a custom piece of 1" Starboard that I made. I used a Trac brand plug/receptacle.

    Strake Scratches

I didn't have a lot of hours on the boat before adding the TV's. So I'm probably not the best comparison expert on the subject. That said and from what I remember about our test drive, there's a lot less corrective steering needed. I would say the claims about much quicker reacting steering are...
