    New Owner of a 2016 242 Limited S

Dude your boats on a lift - it's not going to sink! (nice setup by the way) On my 2016 it seems that Connext needs to be powered up and the bilge in auto mode (blue) for the pump to first activate, then switch off Connext but leave the house battery on for continued pump cycling if you wish.

    Stern thruster

Curious how much thrust that rig could actually generate!

    handling issue

Congrats on getting that POS running! (maybe this is why they went out of business ;)) Just a thought - if you could fit one of the aftermarket rudder systems on your outdrive (jetski model?) that might help.

    Broken Spark Plug

You've got two motors - time to start swapping parts (if you're up to it)!

For those of you on a lift....

Let the boat run at a high angle (just off plane) for a while and operate the bilge pump and you'll get most of the water out!

    Impeller bolt coming off.

Reviving this thread to comment that an "impeller duct check" which includes pump disassembly, cap removal, bearing check and a new o-ring is supposed to be performed ANNUALLY per the "Maintenance..." thread on this page. I haven't heard this mentioned before and I doubt my dealer does this...

    Need Help-No throttle response

Thanks for posting, but that seems to be a TSB to correct a factory shift cable swap - did that fix your problem?

    Need Help-No throttle response

If you could post those "reset" instructions for future reference when you get a chance, we'd appreciate it!

Jet Boating in the Florida Everglades

I don't see how those regulations specifically restrict "jet drive" boats... On the otherhand in NJ, some lakes actually do ban all jet drives in an effort to avoid PWC use and noisy legacy jet drive drag boats!

oil change every season or when its needed?????

IMO synthetic oil with less than 50 hours on it that still looks clean? I'd let it go another season. Otherwise, cheap insurance to change end of every season.

    Possible purchase

I had that exact boat for several years - still admire the lines and that blue hull color! The twin 110hp MR1's top out about 45 mph but get 3 mpg+ at most cruise speeds. Do you know the hours on each engine? It looks a little beat, which is expected... I recall those silver sections of the...

Single engine, two batteries... will it stay charged?

Depends on how far you discharge that second battery and how long you run to recharge. I'd give it a try but if you ever have a dead battery don't expect it to recharge on one motor and a short trip.

Pointers on after dark cruising please.

And remember most every picture you've seen of boats run up onto beaches/marshes/rocks was someone who thought they knew exactly where they were at night!

I have the best pictures on the new Yamaha 275

Does it come with a hardtop for an extra $30k?

Bad luck for out on the reef's new boat

Reminds me of the windshield on my '09 210 ;) Likely the hull is fine and the deck wasn't installed level. If it's just aesthetic issues and the boat performs properly (tracks straight), I think a monetary settlement would be the best solution given his customizing.

    Boating mag 275SD test

Yes the SVHO's are gas pigs, that one fuel consumption data point they show is just over 1.5 mpg which is similar to 28' cabin cruisers with twin V8 I/O's. I hope it manages closer to 2 mpg at optimal (slow) cruise. Still, for the average seasonal user, if you can afford the $130k, you can...

    27 foot yamaha

I always admired that Regal- no step hull (which wouldn't work to well with jets) or side view mirrors in the Yami!

27' new Yamaha model 275 jet boat to be unveil Thursday at the Miami Boat Show

No doubt, lots of great choices in this size and price range. IMO if the shallow draft / no exposed prop of jet drive propulsion isn't a key factor, these boats might not be the best choice. Also note the draft spec of any I/O or outboard under 3' is with the motors tilted up which is generally...
