If the threads go into the plate it might just be threaded INTO the plate. Try spinning the cable to back out the threads.

Cop pulls a gun on a Yamaha jetboat owner!!??

I certainly didn't expect this thread to go on like this, but it shows how this particular subject hits home. I, for one, have great respect for all the people in my town who are of service to me. That includes Police officers, Firefighters and first responders of all types, trash collectors...

It Takes A Lot of Balls...

Look at this ingeniously simple way Los Angeles officials are combating California's drought: With California's record-breaking drought well into its fourth year, Los Angeles is getting creative on the — relative — cheap to protect the city's water. Officials released 20,000 shade balls into...

    New Product Your Opinions Needed!

Here in California they will throw you in jail for using one of those! The drought is so bad that I have to buy bottled water for my tomato plants! Well, OK, I'm exaggerating, but you wait and see....They are working on some way to fine us...they've already raised the rates for...

    best decent budget tower speakers

I'm over the loud music. I rarely use the tower speakers anymore ever since my kids got me these: Music Muffs EARMUFF-IP-ASST-POLKA Earmuffs with Built In Speakers like Headphones I laughed when I opened it and read the description...they thought these were made for Polka music...

    Agreed replacement cost!

I have more insurance than I'll ever need and on ALL my toys, cars, boats, homes, etc. I'm starting to think I'm way too over insured. In all my years boating the only insurance claims filed were on the racing boats and that was a separate policy from the family boat and toys. And those claims...

    My simple mod

We had a Sheriff board us during a routine courtesy check once....he checked for everything from soup to nuts. When he asked about the throwable I pointed to my wife who was sitting on it at the time. He gave us all kinds of grief, claiming that it , "Isn't readily accessible if someone is...

    Sucked up rope

One thing is for sure, without the clean-outs it's a whole new ball game. You Scarab guys should come up with some tools for handling situations like this. I've already seen a razor knife taped to a stick for reaching in and cutting. Perhaps a very long pliers for reaching in and grabbing things...

How are you guys mounting ice chest on the rear deck?

I never allow my cooler to ride on the swim step while we are underway. I'm afraid it will fall unconscious and go into the drink!

    Priest Lake, Idaho

Two of my grand-kids are up there right now. They go every year with the "Other" grandparents. They came back one summer and told us the had a great time "Bisquiting"...we looked at each other puzzled until they explained that they were "Tubing", but that's what they call it up there :p

Wife wants a steering wheel on passenger side?

You need an "Oh Shit" handle. That's what we use in the off road cars for the passenger to hang on to. You could mount a permanent handle: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/290707581975?ul_noapp=true&chn=ps&lpid=82 or get one of the Velcro types...

    To hot to boat?!

Hot? This weekend is projected to be 115 at the river. But that's always wrong....they lie to make it seem tolerable, it will probably be 119-120. I talked to a guy out there on Monday of last week at 10 am, it was 114 and rising. It did rain a little since then. Which is nice...It's fun to...

I know there's a lot of yamaha fans here...

Hey @Morrowcat , Welcome to the site! :winkingthumbsup" I think you should determine where you will be boating most of the time and factor that into your decision. Big water = big boat, and believe it not, I HAVE heard someone say, "I wish my boat was 2' smaller". A buddy of mine bought a house...

How much does it cost to re-gelcoat the entire exterior?

I would paint it. Imron is great, since you are just doing the top sides and these boats really don't take that much abuse up top, Awlgrip is another product to consider. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the name brand two part linear polyurethane paints. The prep is the hardest part...
