2nd bilge pump versus bilge alarm?

Check the new full load and breaker and cable size just in case. Nothing like the breaker tripping at 3 minutes under load while you are taking in water to make you realize something's wrong.

MR1 ECU or injector or something else?

Right, new air filter to go with your new or replaced ECU if it soils. That I grasp. Thanks!

MR1 ECU or injector or something else?

Can you explain how oil on the air filter relates to ECU driver failing for an injector? I admit I got lost there

Broken steering control arm on SX230 starboard engine - how do I replace it?

Sorry you broke your steering cable. Yes, the answer to your question is Yes. If you are super urged to go out next weekend you MIGHT be able to salvage by creating new threads on the cable end you have and adding an extension/coupling. (It can be done, I did it on the other end of the cable...

At 4500 rpm’s it feels like a clutch is being pressed

It's usually some sealant/caulking that has left it's original place. Don't just check visually, also grab/pull around. if it's loose, it gets sucked into the water path and makes a mess. I have stopped using caulk/sealant and instead use WaterWeld to fill in gaps in the "permanent" parts of the...

AR 230 H.O no start when hot

There is a design issue that causes all water ingress through the rear edge to fall right on top of the ECU. Not sure if that's your cause here, but it does not help.

AR 230 H.O no start when hot

If the issue moves with the ecu it points to the ECU being the issue for sure. Folks have had mixed results with the repair. New has better track record. What's the boat year?

Behind that box, through the clean out tray behind it. Swapping ECU is the next best test.

AR 230 H.O no start when hot

The resistance is a good thing to check. There are theories that if an injector has high resistance that can cause damage to the ecu long term, but I can't recall if that has been proven, many of the ones damaged have a lot of moisture or water signs, indicating they were underwater for some...

AR 230 H.O no start when hot

Just to confirm, when you swapped ECU from one side to the other, the issue remained on the single injector that ECU was having difficulty clicking in its original engine? If so, I think this definitely indicates the ECU is the issue.. Did you find any water or moisture when you opened the...

    EvaPad “SeaDek” DIY

Free hand!!!??? That was awesome, the one time I tried free hand with a router it felt I was hearding squirrels. Respect.

Since you are this far in, I would swap from one engine to the other and evaluate if behavior follows ecu exactly. That would confirm your definite diagnosis

And if it tests well, add the injector to create a load and check voltage also. The driver may show ok with no load but be unable to deliver real current.

While you run the test on the yds. Yes.

They operate at 12V, but can generally be opened even with a 9V battery.

I agree it's suspect that the other engine is not passing the test. Something's up.

AR 230 H.O no start when hot

If you are very confident the injector is good, the boat is trying to click the injector, and can't do it. Given that, since you likely have to remove the ECU anyway, I would swap the ecu and confirm the issue follows the ECU exactly as expected to confirm there's no wiring issue. If that...

AR 230 H.O no start when hot

Injector bad or ECU bad. If it was me, I would confirm by swapping injector places on both engines, a good one with a bad one and try again. If the issue moves you know it's the injector. If not, check wiring, but it might be the ECU. As you get to this stage, as you dig at the ECU and remove...

    Battery Reccomendations

The boat pounds a lot, and many of us use it very seasonally. Glad it works for you, but given the 2 options I prefer the cheaper battery for now. Good to hear they last a very long time!

Bolts on air box... Really needed???

I've been running without the black bolts in the middle of the air box for a few hours... Any one else? Any reason I should put the bolts back on? I'm thinking of making some caps to cover the holes but I figured it best to ask here first.
