Live well fishing and using the ballast pumps?

Has anyone used the ballast pumps to support a livewell on the boats? I have a live well that I bring on board with me when fishing. With current setup and a CC boat it works well using the raw water washdown to continuously fill and rinse the live well and keep the fish alive. I've been...

    215 Wake vs 255 Wake

Excellent! I don’t have one yet!! And can’t remwmber my test drives to well at idle to be honest. So I’d have to wait on someone else to weigh in. But I don’t recall thinking anything different than any other boat at slow cruising speeds. But in my mind go as big as you can afford.

    215 Wake vs 255 Wake

Most of the the added space is in the cockpit area I believe. You gain two rear facing seats, behind the driver and passenger, and a flip out section to convert to a bench. You also get a head on the 255, not on the 215. Take a look on the website and grab the top down picture to compare both...

    $95k

prior to tax, but otherwise yes, out the door.

    $95k

This was definitely for the 255 ID. I know, looking closer the total was 91,300 for the 250's, and 94300 for the 300's, discounted down to 74k, and and 77k. what happened to the fully outfitted 30k boat!, The 300's aren't up on the site yet. I was shown a 3k up charge from the 250's.

    Upgraded Steering Wheel

I was just in the 255 ID last week, and pretty sure, although i'm not going to swear by it, that the stock wheel does tilt. maybe the upgrade has more movement or something, but the stock is nice.

    Upgraded Steering Wheel

Bigger and leather wrapped. Haven’t seen it but was told it’s like a bus steering wheel compared to stock. My dealer highly disliked it and pressed it wasn’t worth it. The stock has a flat bottom. Sort of like a sports car.

    $95k

I just had one priced out a little over 92k with the 300’sbut sale price was 77k to me. My dealer buys them outright so no financing. Which makes a big deal. Compaired to the 242x e series at 79. I was pretty pleased.

    Wakeboard vs wakesurf

I’m teaching my kids to water ski first. Then will move on to wake boarding/ surfing. Same thing from snow skiing perspective start with the harder one first. But to one of the comments above. I’m going with the slower is better mantra. I slalom once maybe twice a year. Mostly to impress the...

    Scarab 255 - Twin 150s or 200s?

I was told the SC are also backwards compatibile… so if you happened to blow the SC on an older engine they could be replaced with the new version. bolt on.

2018 or 2019 242 Limited SE, Coming from Cobalt 220

Thanks Cwood… I took the R5 out yesterday. and although very nice, still leaning towards the Scarab and the Yamaha myself. Just need to convince my wife of this! Enjoy that Limited SE... very nice boat... I love the tower on it!

2018 or 2019 242 Limited SE, Coming from Cobalt 220

It sure where you are in your decision. But I’m looking at very similar boats ‘19 Scarab and Yamaha, as well as CobLt R5 / 242 (couple years used). I’m leaning towards the Scarab for several reasons, from my view point the ride and interior fit and finish of both boats are of pretty great...

Salt Water Slip - Bad idea?

I’m planning to next year. But will “most likely” be getting a 2019. They have updated the warranty to allow for wetslip and have some new coatings for the engine / jet components. So a little different at least from a warranty piece then even the ‘18 boats. Hopefully I have a good experience...

What would be the reasoning between zinc or magnesium?

    New owner! Almost!

I'm in Mass, and Dealer has the same package. Deposit now, and close after the boat show in February and able to take advantage of any show deals. Not a bad offer.

Yamaha 242X E series vs Chapparral 2430 VRX

ah, didn't understand your question. but it did have the seadeck installed... and was really nice. and no, from I know, it was the wetsounds stereo. I have been trying to price one out again online, but the configurator isn't available anymore. soo.....

Yamaha 242X E series vs Chapparral 2430 VRX

It had everything. upgraded stereo, yes to the seadeck, and the hard frame bimini, ballast, and i'm most likely forgetting other items. but hardly a box was left un checked.

Yamaha 242X E series vs Chapparral 2430 VRX

Finally had an opportunity to test drive a couple of boats this past week, and thought I would share my thoughts and see what everyone thinks. Yamaha was a 2019 X e series Chapparral was a 2018 2430 with twin 200's to preface this post, I've been loving the Chapparral's, and was basically...

    Dealer Inspection and Wet Slip

Glad to hear someone else is thinking about this... I'm in Mass, so a bit shorter season, but it seams everyone is frantic about a wet slip option. I plan to take the boat out every 2 weeks or so, (as we'll be heading to a few local lakes), clean, WD40, and generally treat all metal areas, but...
