100 Years or MORE. . . . . Picture Thread

So the point of this thread is to post up cool items in your possession that are over 100 years old. . . . . .

I'll start with this Morgan Silver Dollar from exactly 100 years before I was born.

I will play, my Grandfather brought this pistol home from Germany. It was manufactured in a bicycle factory. We believe it to be early World War I which is right at if not over 100 years. It is resting on his flag.

This 1908 Winchester model 94 lever action 38-55 was purchased by my Grandfather that year for $12. He purchased it as a hunting rifle never realizing that about 6 years later he would be using it to hunt the enemy during World War 1. Back then the military would allow some soldiers to bring their own weapons. Thanks for your service Gramps.

This is an interesting find from a Missouri gun show - a circa 1860 "ZULU" musket conversion shotgun. These were European percussion muzzle-loading military rifles that were converted to accept the Snider breech-loading system to a 12 gauge shotgun. Or something like that. This one supposedly used in the Civil War.

I going to bet I have the oldest thing. This is petrified wood found on the shoreline of Lake Michigan. This chunk weighs around 10 pounds.

I was quite sad I didn't have anything to contribute and then this popped up.

It is an amphora top. I had a friend I visited in Turkey and he was a scuba diver. He found this in a shipwreck in the Agean Sea.

1885 Morgan Silver Dollar (unfortunately not Carson City mint).

I'm going to cheat a little because of the difficulty to make it this far. We are celebrating my grandmothers 96th birthday this weekend!

When I was a kid, I collected stamps. I was probably ten or so and we were on a vacation in the south. Anyway, this guy on the corner had some crap for sale, one of the items was a 1848 (EDIT 1863) un used Jefferson Davis confederate stamp. I remember my father paying $5 for this completely worthless stamp.

I didn't keep up collecting stamps for much longer after that, but that was always pretty cool to me due to its age (so old...they cut them individuals with scissors - no perforations).

About 30 years after I got the stamp, I dug it up to look up its value. I was thinking it was now worth $25-$50....it was worth $5. Lol. I will try to did it up for a picture when I get back from vacation.
