I need the wisdom of some computer/electrical nerds.

On my work yacht there are two 12v computers. One is for navigation and one to monitor all onboard systems and engines. After a complete power loss on the 12v side, the computers will not turn back on. I have to remove ALL items plugged into the rear ports and the power. After that, they will boot up just fine.

Ideas?

Strange, I would guess that it is related to a ground issue. Depending on how smart the power supplying it may be detecting a voltage leak and refusing to power up.

Another possibility is that the attached accessory might be pulling too much power from the computer.

Have you tried removing one or some of the accessories as a method of trouble shooting?

I guess that I need to remove one at a time to fully understand what is causing it. Just strange that it happens on 2 seperate and different branded computers.
