Hey guys, so last year I bought this 18 212x and I love everything about the boat......except the sound system.

My a major complaint is this feedback/static noise I get. Usually when I first get in the water you can hardly hear it and then all of a sudden a little while later it kicks in and it’s so loud you can hear it over the music even with it cranked. If I turn the stereo off for a while and then back on it’ll be better but it always comes back. I have scoured the boat looking for a loose ground or wire but can’t seem to find anything. Anybody have a similar issue? I called the dealer and he seems to think it’s these under powered amps they put in these boats with no adjustments causing this noise. It’s driving me nuts.

So while I’m super disappointed in this stereo system having this super frustrating noise it also seems super under powered, bass wise and clarity. So my question is should I upgrade this amp to kill two birds with one stone? Will this solve my issues?

Also, if I do change out the amp, what do you recommend I buy and how do I install it? I see the factory amp has smart connectors going into it from the head unit instead of rca type connections. Do I have to cut those connections off the stock wiring and wire in rca connections? So many questions haha. Any help would be appreciated. I can’t take another summer fighting that stereo feedback/white noise I get. Thanks in advance.
