I have a 1996 Sea Rayder f14 Jet boat with the Mercury 120xr sport jet. Just recently I took it out and went to turn off the boat by flipping the rocker switch down and the boat did not kill. I then removed the key on the underside as well and it did not kill, I then pulled the emergency keychain and the boat engine came to a halt. I am wondering where I should look first to figuring out the issue? And I am not able to find any wiring schematics for the boat either to know what connects where.

I assume it was working fine before? Was this the first time out this season?

Not unheard of for rodents to chew on wires...

Not familiar with your boat, though. Do you have pics of the rocker, key and the chain?

It is a shot, but could be your ref limitnator.. was the engine racing or just would not shut down?
