2005 Yamaha sx 230 Steering Cable DIY HELP!

Hello All,

I recently purchased a 2005 yamaha sx230 jet boat with a broken steering cable.
Any links or videos of a detailed "how to" ?
I need to replace the broken steering cable but I cant seem to find any info online
Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Also do you know where I can find a diy on how to change the shift cable too?
While im at it should I change the throttle cable as well? although it feels fine

I cant seem to find the specific threads, maybe im searching wrong? Sorry very new to this thread

I replaced my steering cables last year without doing the throttle cables. 2005 ar230

You will probably want to drain the fuel tank. You will definitely want to change oil and spark plugs.

Last year I changed my steering and reverse bucket cables.... and helped @justason and @sethman919 ... our boats are 07 and two 08 so it may be a little different but I can tell you what we did if u run into a question. Also If u put your rough location on the member map then someone may be close enough to u to help or give first hand advice..

Do I have to purchase two steering cable for each jet?
And two shifting cables for each shifter??

There are a total of 2 steering cables and two reverse bucket cables totaled fofor the boat.

Thanks man! Here's a couple more pics I took while I stopped for gas on the journey up from Miami to NJ. Bought it in Miami, my first boat and first time trailering anything. Glad to have made it home with out a scratch.
