2008 SX230 very hard to put it in reverse .I'm assuming It has to be the cable are the throttle cables the same for the reverse bucket ?

Yes. You can find the details on how to order and replace these cables in the FAQ. I need to do this myself (install the cables) before this boating kicks into gear.

First disconnect the cable at the bucket to see if the bucket moves freely and confirm it is cable

As you move the throttles into the first and second detent forward or reverse only the bucket cable is moving.............as you advance throttles beyond the second detent forward the throttles cables are engaged at this point. If it's hard to move just off neutral its the reverse bucket cable.
