2009 custom weld issues

So I just bought a 2009 custom weld with the 350 Kodiak. What I am having problem with is once on plane and I go for say half a mile or so it starts to bog down to only 12 miles an hour and then is I try to throttle back into it it just bogs at 12 miles an hour but if I let it sit and idle for 5 minutes it will get back up and go but then do the same thing another half mile up river ! And what would be the normal time to get one plane it takes about 10-12 second and I feel like it should be quicker! Thanks for your help
