I just purchased a 2012 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 300x. I have never owned, launched, or trailered a PWC. I am looking for advice.

I bought inexpensively from a good friend. It runs well but needs some love. Overall it just looks worn.

List of known items I believe I need to address:
-The seat vinyl is cracked, duct taped, and needs replaced or repaired. Is a cover from Blacktip a good option or do I need to replace?

-Much of the plastic is faded and graphics are worn, dried out, cracked, and sunburnt. I plan to heat gun the plastic to remove the faded haze and do a full graphics kit.

-The “Seadeck” foam is dried out and no longer soft. I plan to replace with a kit or DIY from a sheet.

-Purchase a cover. Much of the existing wear if from not having a cover. Plus, I trailer a hour away, or more.

-Last but not least. I plan to review the Owners Manual and Service Manual. Then perform a complete service on the Ski.

I am looking for advice on other items I am over looking, should I add any DIY projects(bilge pumps, etc?). Are there good places to get the seat cover, graphics, etc.

add my steering to it and you will have more fun than you ever imagined possible SERIOUSLY!!!

I might do that. Not on my priority list. I have it on my boat and am pleased with it.

Makes it way more fun and a lot safer because you can steer with no thrust just forward motion and the loss of steering if the engine looses power or if you rapidly decelerate is why people get hurt on a ski the other issue with p w c's is getting thrown off in turns but my design keeps you planted on the seat and you do not need to buy after market sponsons to stabilize the hull at high speed plus anyone can drive it like they have been doping it for years.
As for seat covers check with www.sbtontheweb.com they sell custom covers and all you need is a staple gun and some stainless staples to put it on yourself. As for the ski steering. You can also pull tubes and water skiers with a P W C if you have my steering on it . These are real videos I made
.
