Just got a new to me 2017 242X and can’t seem to get my port ballast to fill all the way, it’s only getting to maybe 60% or so. Starboard and locker bags are fine.

I read a few threads here that helped with finding the calibration screen, however that didn’t help in my case because the system times out and says max full when it is actually only 60% full. I even tried to calibrate separately so the entire intake was used for port ballast only, still no success.

I assume I can buy the ballast manual over-ride cables someone here sells but won’t that will leave 40% In by port ballast when it thinks it’s empty? Is there a way to increase the factory fill timer on the 2017? (I think this is capable on 2018-2019)?

I’m not interested in more intakes at this time, maybe as an off season project, for now just want it to fill 100%. Help!!!!

I'm not sure what the work around was I remember someone posting holding a button down . But yes the pump Jumper cable will just be a manual way to fill it and empty it so you dont have to worry about 40% water being left in the bag . For me this was necessary we have very few nice calm days that seem to fall on my weekends and the cable allows manual use of the pumps to fill or empty the bags to the max . The impeller could have a broken vein, junk in the impeller or some other issue and not be running at 100% efficiency in that case it would time out and not fill all the way because its running on a timer. The other issue is filling the bags from one inlet

Below is the link I replied to your PM conversation with my pay pal info

Just sent PayPal payment for cable.

Any idea if the impeller in those pumps are an easy replacement? Anyone have a service manual that shows Ballast pump impeller p/n?

EDIT: I found that the P/N for the pump is Yamaha P/N F2G-U6118-00-00 but cant find any additional detail on the impeller???

Here is what I did. I filled my bag to the point to where the factory " set time " shut off. I then jumped the switch to fill my bag to where I wanted it. I then went to the calibration screen and calibrated a complete empty. When filling ballast I would only fill the ski locker and starboard bag, when those got done I then filled my port bag. 2 seasons ago is when segregated the port bag to a dedicated thru hull fitting while I was installing my additional transom fill port.

Here is a link to the impeller:

Does anyone use a supplemental pump system to fill/drain their factory bags in 242x? Maybe one of the pump systems offered on WakeMakers? Thinking it may be a good backup to avoid the disappointment of not being able to surf if Connext decides not to cooperate on any particular day. I'd like one that would connect to factory bags to fill and empty remotely if possible. I really don't want to go through hull to add inlets if possible. IMHO the fewer holes in a hull the better but I guess would consider other solutions if necessary. Thanks in advance for any info.
