Picked up this amazing 242xe used with low hours after selling my 2005 AR230 this seems to be a common theme sell the old Yamaha and get a new top of the line model. lots of pictures below showing some of my modifications with descriptions.

The ballast on timers is kind of nice but has a few bugs the opening for the valve is only 1 1/2'' wide and if you hit fill all each pump has a 1'' feed and the timer shut off before they are full

Cables are for sale if anyone needs it

The rear starboard bunk sits partially on the intake the 2X6 cca covered in carpet is under enormous stress from the flange on the thru hull fitting . Took some measurements at the boat ramp dropped the boat in pulled some of the large staples out took a saw and notched the bunk and flared out the area so that the fitting is not taking all the weight. That fitting is 3/8'' thick the bunk now lays flat on the hull this also allows a hose to be stuffed into the fitting . The pumps can be energized and I can suck up anti freeze then discharge it by reversing the polarity or give the bags a fresh water flush for when im in salt water .

For my hot water shower set up and boat rinse off I use the kahuna 4.7 portable shower. Before going out I fill the 5 gallon pail with hot water from a house tap dump it in the large opening and it stays warm all day its great to rinse off and rinse the boards with fresh water. When the boat is pulled out of the water I rinse off the jet nozzles, ratchet tie downs, brakes , leaf springs and clean out plugs. The handle was installed on the lid for easier handling and a new longer line installed that is non self coiling

The power from the boat was extend with a triple plug that has little push button switches and my son installed a piezo buzzer so that you know its on and doesnt burn out the motor or kill the battery.

I took a drill rasp bit and shaved and sanded the opening so that the shower fits in easier

The cover anti pooling straps are in the way if you want to jump in the boat easily and lift the engine hatch. I wrapped them around the tower in a way that lets the water still roll off and they can be left on and still open the engine hatch. this way you can drape the cover and still get anywhere in the boat

Wing bolts are installed in the sound bar so they can be loosened and the bar can rotate to face forward and down for better interior sound or it can be quickly flipped for better sound on the swim deck. It just needs to go up and rotate to clear the connector

Do you happen to remember the specs on those wing bolts? Every time out I'm pulling out the allen to make adjustments. Thanks.

They are a little long get some ss star lock washers and the mounts to the sound bar needed some mods on my boat they were not parallel once they are milled down with a grinder it helped make it very secure in any position. Take a look at that as well
