I just purchased a 2018 AR210. Got a great deal on an amazingly clean garage kept boat. Really happy with everything except the trailer, and only because it's painted and I'll be in salt. I will need to swap it out and probably buy an aluminum trailer. As such, I will want to sell the painted trailer. I have no idea what they're worth. It's really a shame because the trailer was awesome bringing it home. Disc brakes were outstanding. Any guidance on what these are worth? Any guidance on things I'll want to make sure I'll have on a new one?

Unfortunately, probably not a lot of need for a painted trailer if you're in salt country. I would look for lake communities, or perhaps, use it as trade value with the dealership.

Thinking to put it up on here and on Craigslist, but I'm really not sure what to ask for it. The new aluminum looks like will cost me about $3.5k. I'm thinking $2k or so? Seem right?

It's possible someone could modify the bunks to fit another brand of boat. I was in the same position with my last boat, painted trailer....tried and tried to get someone to buy it or trade me but no luck. It's a matter of getting lucky and finding someone who wants to trade or someone looking for one. Other problem is most of these come with a trailer already so makes it hard. I would have been happy with $750 for my last trailer. I think $1500-$2000 is fair but finding a buyer is the hard part and how long you want to wait and have to hold onto it.
Depending on your laws, you may need brakes on both axles for you next trailer.

Will it really deteriorate that quickly? I'm currently considering buying a boat with a painted trailer as well. Will probably drop it in the intercoastal from time to time.

I never put my painted in saltwater, I was told that just (1) time would start to rust it. I already seem to have enough little problems with trailers in general. Just going by what other people told me, you can find many opinions if you google it or probably even on this site.

I used my boat for 2 years in salt water with a painted trailer, then I moved to Texas and was only fresh water for 5 years. I need to replace it, it is still holding up but I wouldn’t drive cross country with it.
In FL for those 2 years I washed the trailer like crazy after retrieving the boat every time. I stuck the water hose in the frame rails and let it run through each side for a good while. I used FluidFilm on all the brake parts.
You can’t rinse out the cross members, that’s where my corrosion started showing up first.

just posting this to give you an example of my timeline of using a painted trailer in salt water.

if anyone knows of a trailer that’ll fit an ‘09 230 for sale let me know!
