2018 yamaha 212x subwoofer shutting off

I recently purchased a 2018 Yamaha 212X. For the first four or five times I took it out. Everything worked perfectly. Then one day after about six hours on the lake the subwoofer shut off, and I assumed it to be the amplifier overheating. Then I took it back out the next time and it cut off after about three hours. Yesterday it cut off after about five minutes.

I am curious if anyone else has had this issue or if anyone can lead me in the proper direction of what to look for. I did not see any protection lights on the amplifier and all the wiring seems to be tight that I can see.

Any thoughts ideas or recommendations would be much appreciated

The WetSounds lights should flash a warning sequence but just the sub is interesting. Do you keep your boat on a battery charger? Might be low voltage.

Yes, batteries stay at 100%. I thought it might have been overheating but I took it out Saturday night for a glow party and left the seat up so I had fresh air plus a small fan and it still shut off.

What resistance is the subwoofer showing?

My previous boat with an Alpine Mono amp to the sub would shut off due to low voltage and heat. Both were experienced. But it was much more common for the low voltage.

This was a sign that my batteries were nearing end of life, as I kept them on a smart charger between days on the water. So we started out charged, but they just did not hold up as long as they got older.

Our current boat has a multi channel JL amp and it will do the same thing on low voltage, but will just not fire at all. So we have no audio since it does not discriminate channels and just doesn't fire. My test was to switch my dual battery system over in parallel, and the amp would fire back up. That is my indication that the batteries are due to be topped, or it's time to head home as we rarely drain our system unless we have been out a couple long days without a charge in between.
