Twice now I have had an issue with my starboard engine "clicking" at startup while the port engine starts up perfectly fine. It happened for the second time yesterday. Put the boat into the water and both motors started fine, went to hang out at an island for a couple hours and then the starboard engine would only click, but the port engine fired right up. Ended up getting back to the ramp on one engine. This morning I disconnected both batteries and cleaned all terminals, but still the same. Planning to get some new batteries today to rule that out, but what else should I consider?

Clicking when trying to start is usually the solenoid that engages the starter going back and forth. Usually indicates weak current to the starter.

You have already done the first step--check the battery side connection, that there is no corrosion and that it is tight. Next step is that you want to check that all of the electrical connections from the battery to the starter are tight. Follow the red wire back and if it goes through a switch, check those connections are tight. All the way back to checking the bolt connecting it to the starter. Then do the same on the black wire. Don't worry about the small wires--just do the big, fat wires--those are the ones that do the current for the actual starting.
