2019 Blood moon

Froze my ass off last night trying to get a few shots of the blood moon. This is the best one I think I got from my 135mm. Took forever to expose this so that I would get color on the moon but also let enough light in to capture stars without blowing out the moon.

Thanks @zipper ! I was also trying to experiment with a long exposure star trail shot but the moon just looked like a bright orange light streak lol. Shooting astronomy is a pain in the ass as far as exposure goes lol. I wished I still had a long tele lens I sold off years ago but 135 L lens still hangs in there

beautiful shot!. thanks for sharing with those of us who don't care enough about celestial events to go outside and stare at the sky when its 5 below. LOL

Drove in to town earlier in the night, around 6pm. the moon was the clearest iv'e ever seen it. Very cool

That is a great photo. Moon photos are tough to get exposed well. We'll worth braving the cold last night to see.
