Passenger seat pedestal.
Does anyone make a shorter one?
I can't imagine why Yamaha does this at least 6" higher than Driver. Probably Cost.

I noticed the same thing with our 212s, I can only guess they use a shorter leg for more clearance for the helm area and steering wheel. Look at the height of the passenger seat, several inches lower puts it below the rear seating. I removed the bolt so I can turn my chair all the way around 180 and it's a bit below the rear seats cushions. Not a big issue, but I can see some people not liking it.

Can't help on a replacement, but I think you would need to replace the whole leg including the bolt-down base section. Yamaha parts should be able to get you a replacement for the captain's chair - they're the same except for the height (and bolt to stop it spinning all the way around).
 
I get the height re the steering wheel.
Should of made them the same height. My guy friends sit way above the windshield.
