As the title states, I'm on the hunt for a 212.

I'm already working with the two dealers closest to me but I'm reaching out here in case someone sees something I'm missing.

I'm in Central Texas but would travel some to pick up the boat, or arrange for shipping. If anyone has any leads please let me know!

I should clarify a bit, I'm specifically searching for the base 212 model. My garage and budget will only fit the non-towered model, and I'm really digging the black with blue stripe paint job.

Keep in mind with a little adjustment on the tower, the 212S will fit in a 8’ door. You just need to take the tower stops off.

I've only got a 7 foot door, unfortunately. I'll already be doing some gymnastics to get the non tower 21 footer under that. There are some members who have been able to do it, but the tower would be an absolutely impossible task I believe.

The 210 might tough even without a tower. I have 240 without a tower and I could not clear for 3 inches with the tires deflated and tongue on a caster.

Have you considered raising your garage door entrance to 8 feet ? My builder gave me hell, but eventually the city and HOS approved and after $8,000 I can roll in and roll out hooked up on the truck. The level of convince it amazing. That $8k was worth every penny. We can leave the house within 10 minutes of deciding we want to go to the lake and when we come back no matter how tired or lazy we back up the boat inside the garage , shut down the door and deal with the cleaning the next day

I have definitely considered raising the door. My plan is to buy the boat and try to create a method of safely getting it in. If all else fails, we're about to refinance the house anyways because rates are crazy low so I'll pull $10k out to have the door raised just enough to fit the boat.

I'll just pay for a storage spot if I absolutely have to.

Yamaha advertises the 21 foot non tower models at 7'4" on the trailer, and the 25 foot model at 7'10" on the trailer. My hope is that 6" difference is enough for me to sneak the 21 footer in without tearing apart my brick facade.

I definitely see the value in being able to quickly stash or pull the boat like you describe.

If anyone in the Austin area wants to stop by my house with a 2017+ SX210 or 212 I'd be more than happy to fill up your gas tank to let me preview the reality of fitting this thing under my 7' door! Haha

He told me he would go and play with different things on the trailer to see if he could do the seven or under. Called me back an hour later and told me closest he could get was 7’3. He definitely seemed motivated at the time and was disappointed. I just ended up getting the 212S. Have to say I’m really happy I did even tho I have to pay for storage.

Good to know. I am fully prepared for even the non towered 212 to not fit. I still prefer to not have a tower, personally. I'm 6'7" and the tower would go largely unused in my family. So besides the cost increase and lower chance of ever putting it in our garage, I'd be constantly having to duck to avoid smacking my head on it. I had a chance to stand in an AR210 pre-covid and it was just a bit too short for me to clear it comfortably.

This post here (and some measuring at the dealership in 2019) has me hopeful that I'll be able to squeeze a 212 under the 7 foot mark, at least until we can have the header raised to 8'.

I brought my boat home to clean and get a few things done back in November. I remember thinking at the time there was no way I would be able to fit it in the garage without some serious work. that looks like a 7 foot door, no way he can slide the boat in without taking the wheels off and dropping the tongue on a caster.

Did you find a boat? There is a used 2020 212 in my area with under 20 hours for sale. I realize it's a long drive.

Hey thanks for that lead! I had not seen that one. It looks great and well cared for. I think an 18 hour drive might be out of my range at this moment.

I had found an available 2021 212 and put money on it, then it was cut. After searching everywhere it seems non towered boats got cut more than towered boats (my guess is Yamaha have a stockpile of paid-for towers that need a hull)

Ultimately, I caved on the "no tower" requirement and found an available black AR210 locally. It did make the first big round of production cuts, according to my dealer. So for now I'm holding off on 18 hour drives unless this AR also gets canceled on me.

I'd still prefer a 212 if one pops up within a day's drive (~6 hours each way).

@Sarcophosaur brining that boat from WI to Dallas is a $2,000 shipment. I am sure you can find someone who can do it even cheaper than that.

Yeah, I checked with uShip and got one bid for about a grand. Still debating. The combined downsides of: more expensive than a new AR210, buying sight unseen used, and having to arrange shipping all have me leaning towards just waiting and taking this AR I have my name on. Bird in hand however...and I could be boating this weekend in TX, haha.
