2021 25 foot covers

Ok I get it. Learn something new around here everyday. I would guess that the towers that have the larger Bimini's can be done this way?

The whether the tower is up or down his cover should fit. Perhaps you are correct and the shipping cover is not for his boat.

Here is my boat and its shipping cover when it arrived.

thank you for the picture. That looks well below the waterline if using in a slip which is what I was planning to do while waiting for my mooring cover to arrive. Uh oh... boat getting delivered to me in a week or two but no Yamaha cover until June.

My shipping cover didnt fit my boat anymore once they took it off. I tried and tried to get it back on. Its a shrinkwrap material so once it came off its just shrunk to some degree and was about a foot and a half short. There is just no way it was going back on

Interesting. Could people be getting different shipping covers? The one @Bayou boater has looks like it fits fine.

I'm picking mine up from the dealer on Thursday to put Rejex on the hull over the weekend. They've had it stored under the awning with the ill fitting cover that is about 2 feet short of covering the entire boat. I'm just hoping the real mooring cover comes in before I'm able to drop it in the water for the season. I could probably make do with the one on it now with some bungee chords maybe.

possibly.I havent seen others but mine had a shrinkwrap gun taken to it so the plastic part was shrunk to fit the hull. I dont know if others are like that or not. Was a fuzzy lined shrinkwrap material. Still had the ratchet strap band though

Thankfully, my shipping cover continues to fit my boat as it is it parked in a lift over the water. Not aware of different shipping covers but who knows?

I was told by the dealership that that the tower was under the boat on the truck when it shipped. The cover I have says it is for a 252S on the tag, which also has a tower, but the cover clearly doesn't have cutouts for one. Maybe supply chain issues mean they are having to take various approaches. My mooring cover is now delayed until June, so I guess I have to make it work with this shipping cover...in the water. ?

Anyone ever use a cover like this? Getting desperate for something that’s going to be a little easier for a moored boat.

Shipping cover is working out alright for now. Easily goes around the tower. This fall I was using it before the lift was in though, and a lot of it hung in the water and wasn't ideal, but still got away with it.

Without openings in the shipping cover to get to the cleats, how did you tie it up to the dock before you put in the lift?

Yes actually. My shipping cover was unusable and i was waiting for my canvas guy to get me in so i couldnt shrinkwrap it. I just bought a generic cover like that from sealskin. It was under 400 bucks for the 275. Is it a great cover, absolutely not BUT for the price of it i was really surprised. I got their best material. I did an online chat with the guy and the one he recommended did fit pretty good. Atleast good enough for a winter cover. The material is thin but it does feel like a quality material. The material is waterproof but the cover leaks at the stitched seams. Not bad or anything. If i get 2-3 years out of for a winter cover i am ahead of the game since it cost 450 bucks to shrinkwrap. I took it off last week. It was on all winter and it looks as good as it did when it was new so would i buy it again....yes

My shipping cover fits, but it's shitty with a bunch of extra fabric.

Same issue as other 252SD owners. I have a 21 252SD and got the white shipping cover from the dealer when I picked up the boat. For the life of us we could not get it to fit properly with the tower up or down. It’s like the cover has shrunk 5 - 10 percent. Verified by the tag that it is the correct cover.

We finally got the cover to over the bow and barely over the stern swim platform but never could get the Velcro sides to line up and close. Ordered boat and deluxe mooring cover August 20 and while we’ve had the boat for many months we’ve been told April at the earliest for the proper cover.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get the sides to line up so the Velcro can close, assuming the cover hasn’t permanently shrunk. We do have both poles and straps installed as well.

Thanks in advance

Looks like you've got all the buckles buckled in the strap that runs around the bottom. Have you tried velcroing the sides before you buckle any of the buckles?

I put the cover on, get the velcro on the sides and front all put together, then buckle all the buckles, then tighten the strap with the ratchets.

I only strapped in the hull “belly” straps after trying for hours to get the cover on properly with the tower up and then the tower down and then eventually with the tower up again. We put the belly straps on so the wind wouldn't kick the cover around a lot leading to possible scuffing as we ended up using the cover all winter without closing those side Velcro panels. While we were trying to fit the cover we made sure all the ratchet straps were loose as well.

Has anyone gotten any updates on the covers at all? Im picking my boat up this weekend, and the dealer told me it still not shipped from yamaha, and he now has no idea when it will arrive.
