So we got to do our test drive on the 255XD we have a deposit on today and here’s a couple videos of the surf wave. There were 3 of us onboard and I believe all three ballast were filled and wakebooster deployed on each surf wave side.

Darn it. Says video taken from iPhone is wrong file extension. Anyone know how I can post a quick video on here?
Update - Figured it out and added it to youtube and video links are attached in above post.

Beautiful boat and good for you test driving..My experience for posting videos is putting a link to my YouTube channel, but there might be another way. I'm sure more will chime in.. The wave is nice and clean for factory ballast, but probably need some more weight for a bigger wave, just my 2 cents. Good luck on your decision and welcome!

Videos have to be uploaded and hosted somewhere and then you can post the link to it here. They can’t be manually uploaded here like a picture can.

Awesome, Was wake booster deployed? I’m sure it could clean up more dialing in speed and stuff. Video works for me.

Yes they were. I sat in the back transom and that helped even more (didn't take video), so I'm sure with more people and weight on board and dialing it in it would be a very surfable wave -- water is still just too cold for me (54 degrees) so didn't want to jump in and surf it :). We were out for a couple hours but mostly just going under 6K rpm since it was the break in time.

Not too shabby - typical Yamaha, more weight will help. Goofy side looks like it has a bit more height than regular. I'd be interested to know what another 500-1000lbs of people or ballast might look like.

The wave looks a little better than our 242xe with 3 people onboard. And you don't have to mess with the wake booster. Grab a couple friends and put them on the surf side and I bet it's even better. Congratulations on the new boat!

Do you use a wakebooster or just 3 people? Or both? How much ballast do you do ski locker and surf side?

We definitely use the wakebooster. It's really the only way to clean up the wave that I know of. 80% ski locker. Full surf side and empty non surf side. Riders that weigh about 120 or so can usually go rope less with 3 people in the boat. I weigh 215 and need some more ballast , I mean friends in the boat so a can lose the rope. I need 4 or 5 adults worth of weight for a ridable wave really. We have also found the we can lengthen the wave by increasing speed a little for someone who does not weigh much and slow it down a little to make it taller but shorter for those of us a little heavier.

Jim, same boat, '18, but I've found 400lb of steel in a dry back on the surfside swim deck or the custom swimdeck bag does wonders for making a great wave and allowing adults to go ropeless (with or w/o additional people ballast). Again, one ballast is better than the other depending on if you trailer or not.

Yeah @Shady28 I hear what your saying I just haven't made the commitment to carry the steel all the time yet. Swim deck bag is tempting.
