Does anyone know if I disconnect the battery for a duration of like 5 mins, would it reset the engine code from the system? or does it require like a code reader of sort to reset it?

What do you mean by engine code? I shut off the battery of my SX210 every time I come back from the boating day.

If it's an intermittent fault, it may turn off the check engine light, but the code will remain in memory. If it's a hard/current fault, the only remedy is to fix the fault.
