Just kissed a sand bar in murky water today. I think my second mistake was reversing back, then shutting the motor down to reset the depth gauge. Made for the shortest day ever. Had to row back to the ramp, since I was stuck in reverse. No amount of wiggling would dislodge the reverse gate, and my port cap is also stuck, after picking up some small stones around the edges. I was able to pick out a few, but there are still some jammed in there, to far up for my small mechanics picks to reach. I thinking of making a port cap removal tool, maybe out of a piece of schedule 40 PVC. I will remove the pump tomorrow, and see if I can free the reverse gate. Any advice?
