So the family and I got to Marine State of Long Beach, California. in the first hour into trying to wakeboard the boat sucked the wakeboard rope and the impeller rod pretty good. The boat wouldn’t start so we got stuck banging against the rocks. Took us a few hours to cut off the rope piece by piece out of the clean out port. So happy it started, but then I realized that throttle was very stiff shifting gears from neutral, reverse and forward especially very stiff when going forward. I’m thinking the cable got wrapped around. We are still here at this trip for the next two days. I’m going try to take it on the trailer to see any damage. My only thought is when the rope got pulled it bent the cable to the bucket. Any ideas or thoughts?

Sounds like exactly what happened.
Bent cable or damaged bucket, not much else involved.
