Hi,
I still have a 212s 2021 on order (not canceled) but was wondering if getting on the pre-order for 2022 is a better idea?

thoughts, new one have different options? Cost more or the same? Etc.

thanks,

I don’t have a Yamaha anymore but still love the forum and their boats for that matter. I’d say if you live up north and have a short boating season it may be worth the pre order for 2022. Not sure how bad Yamaha delays are but it’s everywhere. Been waiting for my vette since February and now they saying June. When I was looking for other bots this year Regal had told me the earliest I get one is December so I was like I’d rather get a 2022 and not lose the year re sale value. In the end I went with a used boat. If you gonna get the boat in say august and winterize in September seems like a waster to me. I know getting anything new is exciting though. Good luck

Also, forgot to mention I use my local Yamaha dealer still for my two waverunners to service and since March their phone recording has been we are sold out of 2021 boats and waverunners. I’m guessing inventory and supply chain is very tight so I wouldn’t bank on getting boat before summer.

If Yamaha stays true to form, no one will no about anything new coming till Late July or August. Then you would be lucky to get a boat within a month or two after that. Remember there 100's and 100's of people on waiting list for 2021's and I would assume at this time a lot of them won't come in. I would then assume that they would be first inline or offered for the 2022's, if their dealer is worth a damn. Plus they are already taking orders for 2022's, which I assume is like last years put your name on a list sheet.

Pre ordering a 2022 may or may not get you a boat this year. Having your order for your 2021 may or may not get you a boat this year, BUT if your order hasn't been cancelled you are way ahead of the game right now, and with a bit of luck it may make it soon, I truly hope so.

You won't see any info on the new year boats thats validated for about 3 months or so at best. You need to determine if you want to roll the dice on your current order. I guess it comes down to when do you want to boat? Possibly soon or at the earliest the fall. Some whom ordered last fall still don't have their boats.
