24 foot FSH?

I commented on another thread, looking at this pic my guess is it’s a CC built on the 27’ hull. The real answer is if the 24’ hull has the step at the back like the old 23’. The newer 21’ does not have it, I can tell you that much. Here’s a pic of my 21’ for reference.

Transom looks a bit blocky. Otherwise they are moving in the right direction.

Exciting to see! Also glad they don't just slam something together and announce it. Doing a bit of r&d is important more than ever! Everyone expects perfection these days for a bargain price.

I think they pulled all the posts from Facebook!? I went to look for it again this morning, and it was gone! I'm glad you were able to save the post above.

I just don't know if a 24 or 27 foot CC jet boat will make sense in the price that it'll inevitably be at. But we'll find out!

I’ve said it several times here before, I love these Yamaha boats but if a 24’ is over $60-$65,000 I’m out. I’ll buy a Robalo or something similar.

Look at the 25ft Scarab. I think they sell alright. I think the Yamaha would sell better... people have been begging for it! Whether there's better boats out there in the same price range or not, there's jet boat/Yamaha enthusiast who will buy.

Based on the trailer size and scale, I'm guessing it's a 24ft. Here's my philosophy of why Yamaha never released a 24ft version of off the FSH. The 240/242 models are currently the most dated in the Yamaha lineup and the next ones due for an update. Rather than burn time and energy and money developing a niche boat on a platform that's being out moded in the near future, they've been working on building it for the updated model maximizing its longevity... Makes a bit of sense to me... ?

I LOVE the Scarab Open 255ID. I think it's an amazing layout, and that tailgate is brilliant IMO......and I hate fishing.....This is my next boat (if I win the lottery that is, I'm still poor :D)

If Yamaha makes a decent 24ft center console it would create a VERY touch decision for me. I like the powertrain in the Yamaha, I prefer the styling and layout on the Scarab.

Couple years before I start playing the lottery again, so Yamaha has some time. :D :D

I like the Scarabs looks as well, although the center console isn't in my bag.

I can't tell if the hull in that boat really looks all that different than the current 24'...?

The more I look at that pic, the more I think it’s bigger than 24’. If you look at the extra length ahead and aft of the console it appears to be more than 3 extra feet. On the 21’ there is about 18” from leaning post to the start of the swim deck. Looks like 3-4’ in the pic. From the front of the console to the bow appears at least 2’ more length there. Idk could be a deceiving angle too though.

You know, I think your right. The shape of the bow and the depth of the hull seem to match the 27 proportions more. I agree, there is an awful lot of space in front of that console.

I would agree as well . Definitely larger than a 24

Ok well the rear part of the rub rail looks more like the 24'. But we can look at the wheels they look to be stock 14".
So I'm getting 14" x 19 or 20 = around 23.3'

@J-RAD @Dixie Highway @2kwik4u and I thought you were true Yami die-hards. I'm blown away... :rolleyes: ;)o_O
I am.....but I have loose morals....I'll cheat on Yamaha for a 24ft Center Console Sport Boat........I'm telling you; if Yamaha comes up with a 24ft+ center console I would have a VERY tough decision to make. Cleanout ports and Yamaha engine reliability, or the sexy styling and ....oooo....that tailgate on the Scarab.......Would be a VERY tough choice.

That tailgate is nice.

Cleanout ports? I boat in the same exact areas and do the same exact stuff as before. With my 192, I was constantly pulling weeds or backing up. This BRP setup is really nice. Honestly, I have not had 1 issue.
Rotax Engine: I believe has been around longer than Yamaha and are used in more crafts from snow mobile to airplanes. Honestly, both of these and several others that are well maintained should last.

Again. I like that tailgate too. Did you know you can troll with the BRP setup? Keeping "true Neutral" in the plus side will keep you moving nicely.

Yea, you make good points. I'm not against the Rotax setup (aside from the carbon seal thing), I just like Yamaha's better. I've used my cleanout ports on the Yamaha a total of less than 10 times. Maybe less than 5. It's not a big deal for me, but I would've been swimming had I not had them....Kinda like 4wd in a pickup. I think I HAD to have it only a few times last year, but I would've been calling a tow if I didn't have it.

Not sure how I feel about the Rotax's segregated cooling system. Keeps the engine nice and clean, but could foul the heat exchanger instead. I dunno, I honestly don't have a ton of information to make a good decision.

The tailgate is brilliant IMO, and I really like the CC look/feel. I need to spend some time on one to see if it really works in usage, or is just really cool to look at.

@Dean P I absolutely LOVE my Yamaha boat for what I use it for. I start to have issues when the price creeps up there though. My 21’ at $40,000 in my opinion is a lot of boat for the money. A 24’ at $60-$65,000 is creeping up there to where you could get more boat from a different maker. Yamaha is great at the low-mid price boat game, they struggle when competing in the luxury territory (again in my opinion).

I'm not racist... ??

I was actually looking long and hard at a Vortex when I was shopping for a boat. I think they're great looking, it just couldn't beat the value and frankly the financing I got with my AR240 at the time.
