I am looking at the new 255X Yamaha and needing to know the in water bridge clearance. I see that the specs say 8'1" but it does not specify if that is with the tower folded down or is that with the tower up? Does anyone have any additional information? We are on Morse lake and the bridge is not very high. There are some 252X models that fit under the bridge but i know they have a different Bimini setup vs the 255X. Any help would be appreciated.

8'1" clearance is with the tower up. If you ever needed to, I think you can drop the tower to get another foot or so of clearance.

I appreciate your response, I was hoping it was with it up, the bimini on the 255 is a whole frame that piviots with the tower as it fold down. it def would gain me some clearance with it down. I think the bridge is around 7ft with average water depth but i will be measuring that to confirm. i figure i can somewhat monitor the overall clearance as it rains etc. vs sea level. If anyone out there has a 255x that could get a measurement with the tower down, bimini held level while in water that would be a big help as well. I measured it on the showroom floor with the tower down and to where it appears the waterline would be i still think its going to be close tho.

I wouldn't risk it. At 7 feet you would be really close (if it even fits), tide could change that quite a bit (for better or worse). If you have to go under that bridge every time, I would look at a different boat.

ive considered the 252x, i know the fit as there are a few already on this lake. but the 255X is a more equipped. the supercharged engines being the biggest factor but several other small things that really stand out between the 2. not saying the 252 is a bad boat, i like also and may have to go that route. as far as having to go under that bridge everytime we go out, we dont have to, we like to but we can stay on the north end if its a rainy stretch. that lake drops quick and most of the summer is below normal level. I figured if i can "usually" fit under the bridge, ill just suck it up on the days we cant. however I agree the 252 is a sure fit unless we have abnormal rainfall.

We currently have the SX192 so fitting under any bridge in the past has never been an issue. lol
