Anyone been out there fishing in long island sound. Did you anchor? If so, did it get stuck, how did you retrieve it? I lost two anchors out there. Didn't know it was called 6 mile reef at the time. Probably not a good idea to anchor over a reef anyhow.
 
I just ordered and received a 300' anchor line for fishing the reefs around here at 42~ ft deep. I'm more and more liking the idea of a sea anchor. I know two people who have lost anchors to the reefs. I like the tie-wrap idea for saving an anchor lodged in rocks or debris.

Would more chain help to avoid cutting the rope on the reef? Or did you have to cut the rope because the anchor would not pull?
