A different sub location??

@Earmark Marine is a good place to start for the vent like @David Analog said. I looked at them several times and they have some nice ones, they just didn't fit what I was going for.

I will have to find pictures of mine. I did the same as above just not as pretty. I put a 10 inch sub under the port side lounger then cut the back out of the cubby and put a white painted wire screen. It works well and was super easy.

Didn't one guy put his sub facing the passenger right by his head lol than tried to justify a horrible sub positioning !!

Got the subs in the box last night just to try them out so I " Jerry " rigged up a set-up in my basement. :D I had the old crappy head unit out of the boat when I bought it and I had some old 6 x 9's and some even older 5 1/4" Rockford fosgate punch mids hooked up to just a head unit. I used an old Pioneer amp to power the subs which is about half as much power as I will be putting on them in the boat. Strange I had all of this just sitting around... ..... Anyways HOLY CRAP!!! That was loud in the basement.

I actually tried the subs last night in the location I thought I was going to put them. Well that won't work, like @David Analog said a boat shaker not a music maker. I thought I was going to vibrate the boat apart. So I am just going to mount my batteries back there and leave the subs right under the seat so I can vent them at the sand bar with the seat off. That and surfing is the only time we really crank up the music anyways. I might go ahead and purchase one of those white plastic vent covers from earmark and cut a hole where the IB subs are usually mounted on the 230 boats for an extra vent.
