Air pumps

I think I’ve spent more time analyzing this than I did when buying all of my previous boats and PWC combined. I was close to pulling the trigger on Ryobi, but then settled on DeWalt. Then… I was watching YouTube reviews when I came across the Etenwolf Vortex S6. It has very positive reviews, integrated batteries and I was able to get for just under $100. 🤞 Guess we’ll see how it goes.

The pump I ordered, ETENWOLF Vortex S6 Tire Inflator Air Compressor for SUV/Pickups, arrived today. It’s a nice pump with features similar to DEWALT 20V MAX Cordless Electric Portable Inflator (Tool Only) DCC020IB - The Home Depot, except the batteries are integrated and costs less than $100.
It’s a nice pump, but it’s just wasn’t what I was looking. With Christmas just around the corner, I carefully repackaged it and I’m sure my better half is going to love it!
In the meantime, I took https://www.jetboaters.net/members/jimbobalu.26640/ advise and ordered a Swonder Seawolf S20Li 9000 Rechargeable SUP Pump. With holiday discounts, it’s only $112.🤞

I use the Seawolf to blow up and deflate paddle boards and all kinds of inflatable including a huge drop-stitched 10 footer at 10psi. It always has plenty of battery to spare and does the job without issues. I wish it was faster, but apparently others are much slower.

you may want to plan on adding a manual hand/foot pump as well. I use my dewalt and that gets the inflatables full but use the manual pump to get the last few PSI in there so tube is properly inflated. they tow alot better that way.

That’s the reason I ordered the Seawolf. The Etenwolf is similiar to the DeWalt in that it will inflate everything from car tires to sports equipment. One difference between the two is that Etenwolf intergrated the battery into the pump, which was a factor in my decision because I use Milwaukee M18 and Ryobi 40v batteries and I didn’t feel that I’ll use it enough to warrant buying into another battery system. Also, both pumps only allow you to set a target pressure on the hi pressure side and not on the hi volume side. I tried using the Etenwolf to fill our GangPlank mat, and as you noted, it just didn’t produce enough hi volume air pressure to inflate it properly.

The Seawolf also has an integrated battery, it cannot be used to inflate tires, but allows you set a target pressure as high as 20psi. I believe most SUPs require around 15psi. When filling an inflatable, it will start with the hi volume pump, automatically switch to the hi pressure pump at about 1.0 psi, then automatically shutoffs when it hits your target pressure…. at least that’s my understanding!

The pump is supposed to arrive next week so I can test it and compare against my AirHead pumps.

That's exactly how it works. It takes a little less than 10 minutes to inflate a large 10 foot diameter mat to 10psi.

I received the Swonder Seawolf pump and I‘ll admit that I’m impressed. Nicely packaged, 2 charging cords, multiple tips, and 3 feet of hose. I played around with it a little bit and the first thing I noticed was how much quieter it is than my AirHead pumps.

After setting the pressure to 2 psi and it only which took 3:15 minutes to inflate our Gang Plank mat. Decibels ranged from 71db during the 1st stage (<1.0 psi) to 78db towards the end of the 2nd stage.

Then I inflated an 11’ SUP and set the psi to 15 psi. Interestingly, I only recorded 66db during the 1st stage, which took 1:20 minutes. It reached 10 psi at 5:18 minutes and 15 psi at 8:07 minutes. The highest decibel reading during that time was 81.7.

I always use our 120v AirHead Super Pump to fill the 3 person tube at home and strap it to the boat before heading to the lake, but I wanted to see if the Seawolf was up to the challenge. I’ve got to say, it didn’t let me down. It did take longer than the Super Pump, but that’s to be expected.

All in all… I’m very happy with this purchase. No cords, less noise, it automatically shuts down once it hits the target pressure and now the grandkids can own it. The only downsides is that it doesn’t come with a carrying case and this particular model doesn’t have a cord. Swonder has corded options, but the cords aren’t detachable and there is no onboard storage for the cord. Since we always remove our gear from the boat and make sure everything is ready for the next trip, recharging shouldn’t be a big concern for us.

Now I just need to wrap the Etonwolf and get it under the tree… the wife is possibly going to love it!

@Madman ,I'm confused, did you get the Swonder Seawolf or the Etonwolf or both? Your review says Seawolf, but then you write about wrapping up the Etonwolf? What product is your review above for?

😊 I actually bought both. I bought the Etenwolf in error. I say that only because I thought I’d be able to set a target pressure on the high volume side which it doesn’t do… my error. It wasn’t worth the time and expense of returning, and to avoid admitting to anything, my wife will be getting it for Christmas…shhh! She’ll be able inflate the tires on her car, wheelbarrow, bikes, snowblowers, etc! Of course, I’ll probably be sleeping on the couch for the rest of the year!

The Seawolf is the one we’ll be using on the boat. The model I bought for $112 can be found here: Swonder Seawolf S20Li 9000 Rechargeable SUP Pump. They also have a battery/corded model for $70: Swonder Seawolf S20 Car Charge SUP Pump. You can also find Swonder pumps on Amazon.
